I’m not terribly fond of extreme body kits. It’s trying too hard to look like an F-Type, I think. I do like the spoiler and side skirts. I do wish someone should offer a wide body kit though.
Agree with jahummer, trying too hard to look like an F type. If this were an actual poll, it is biased, as I’m naturally drawn to the red color, and the scale of the two doesn’t match.
That kit to me looks like a car from Grand Theft Auto in that it’s not supposed to quite be real, but was taken to Los Santos Customs and some sketchy crap was bonded on.
I think the front end reminds me of the late 4th Gen Camaro aka the Catfish.
I'd much prefer the 2012 plus lights, but that's a lot of work and cost.
For a body kit, I'd be satisfied with something that made the butt wider, about even with the (spaced out) rear wheels.
That’s actually from a company called FX designs out of Chicago I believe. I’m not certain if they’re still in business. There’s another company out of Germany called Prior Design which has similar kits.
Fitment with most FRP or GRP body kits can be challenging as those materials are quite stiff and rarely fit straight out of the box and require modification and adjustment to fit properly.
That’s one of the things that makes Grantley designs unique. And he uses a proprietary flexible urethane material that he claims is easy to fit and more durable than anything else.
Nookat,
Congratulations on getting your car the way you like it. When I set out to do mine many years and many, many miles ago, what its future value might be or what anyone else thought of it didn't really enter my mind. I just wanted something a little different and a little more custom looking I thought the F/X Designs rear bumper filled that desire nicely while adding a little more aggressive look. I didn't even leave that alone as I replaced the "honeycomb" mesh with a stainless grill that approximated the front grill. My car will pass 200,000 miles on it in the next week or two, and I still love looking at it and driving it, so I guess I succeeded in my goals. The front end kit from F/X was a little bulkier looking than I liked so I kept it stock except for the little lip splitter from Mina. And the side skirts from Mina just kind of connected the front splitter to the back of the car. As Jahummer stated in an earlier post, these parts don't just come out of the box, bolt right on, and look perfect, they take lots of work to get them to look like OEM parts. But, they give your car a bit of customization that makes it all yours. Again, congrats on a beautiful transformation. Enjoy!
