Default Book shipping news

Hi all,

Just received word, the book many of us may pre-ordered July 2015, will be shipping to arrive next week.

You & Your Jaguar XK/XKR: Buying, Enjoying, Maintaining, Modifying: Nigel Thorley: 9781845848156: Amazon.com: Books You & Your Jaguar XK/XKR: Buying, Enjoying, Maintaining, Modifying: Nigel Thorley: 9781845848156: Amazon.com: Books

To be honest, it has been so long, I had forgotten about. Now, looking forward to learn about Nigel's idea of "modifying".

How many here pre-ordered?

Happy motoring.......

Mine arrived yesterday!
And the price went down from the original pre-order price, so there was a $13 savings.

That's great! Probably would have mine by now too, if it wasn't for the fact the CC I used last summer, the expiration date had since expired. I received a notice a couple days ago they had tried to bang my card and it was refused. Fixed it and now the ball is rolling again.....
Any initial thoughts?

Mine arrived in the middle of January there's been a considerable delay in making it available outside the UK.

I'll have to check this out. When I bought my Ferrari back in 2000 I also picked up a copy of "The Original Ferrari V8" for $35. It seemed this book went out of print after I bought it and I believe the author had also died. The book is rare now and goes for anywhere from $200-$500 for an as new copy. Mine was open once and now is in a vacuum bag. So I wonder if Jaguar has one of their books/authors that will be worth more in 10-20 years.

Check the cost on used copies of the first edition of 'You and Your Jaguar XK8'. The is Abebooks.co.uk

Amazon.com lists it from $199.21

I'll be taking great care of my first edition and am seriously thinking of buying a second copy of the second edition.

My verdict on the second edition - typical Nigel Thorley. Well researched, comprehensive and good layout. Naturally there's a large amount of repetition of the earlier edition but useful additional sections on the XK.

I got mine in November and I live about as far away from the UK as you can get!

I did use https://www.bookdepository.com/ though as they do free shipping to New Zealand.

I only read about 30 pages before life took over so am only part way through the XK8 section. It is much better and has a lot more information than "Jaguar XK8 & XKR 2006-2014" so if I was to only buy one it would be "You & Your Jaguar XK/XKR: Buying, Enjoying, Maintaining, Modifying"

Default got it

Hi all,

Received my book along with the discount as mentioned. The book is nice quality with a very nice hard cover. I think it's a great book for anyone thinking of buying an XK8 or later. This book, together with being a member of this form, is a win-win combination. The book provides the generals and you guys provide the details.......
Happy Motoring......
