Default Boot Lip

Can anyone post some pictures showing differences between boot Lip models. 4.2 models has differences comparing with 5.0 models? Thanks

The Coupe and Convertible boot metal panels appear to have been a consistent shape throughout production but with a variety of drilled holes depending on options. There were a number of Spoiler (item 1) designs:

There are three versions, plus the GT wing.
The small dinky one, the bigger Speed Pack one that covers the rear part of the lid, the pedestal R-S wing, then the massive GT wing.
I'll look for some pictures of all four.

It's interesting that the RS-GT uses the "small dinky one" together with the "massive wing."

Identity crisis?

I believe the wing on the RS-GT is too thin to accommodate the third brake light.

That wing also look ridiculous. Apart from looking as if it's a reject from a Swedish furniture factory, if it does produce any effective downforce it would bend the aluminium tailgate.

Obviously, but why not use the larger Speedpack spoiler?

I agree that it looks totally stupid, but, I think, the force from the wing goes into the tailgate mainly via the rearmost connections and acts tangential to the near vertical part of the panel. In that direction, the panel should be strong (and stiff) enough to carry the load without damage.

It’s just suction cups holding it, so I guess you pop it off anytime you want to raise or lower the top.

The beauty of suction cup mounts is that you'll know exactly where to put it back on to hide the scratches in the paint!

They are a popular swap for those with the dinky spoilers. The Speed Pack versions come up on eBay and other sites occasionally, usually used from a salvage vehicle.
Some places sell Aftermarket versions, but they don't fit very well (if at all). Ask me how I know.

My Wife would go NUTS on the thought of losing one piece of luggage with her items!

;-)

So no solution for me!

if you have satellite radio antennae installed on the lid, the speed pack spoiler is too large and interferes with the antennae.
Your option is to relocate the antennae or stick to the smaller spoiler. Voice of experience.

????????
Is this a thing on the coupes? The two aren't even close on convertibles. Like, 8cm or more.

I don't know...maybe it's too large. But with your help and photos now i understand the differences. Here in Portugal this model it's very rare, i never saw live, one car with that "wing" include on sport pack. Even XKR, like mine, isn't usual...easy to find all germans and italian models. Jaguar sports cars are very rare
