Default Bootlid spoiler; Speed Pack, Aero Pack, XKR-S, i'm confused

I've seen it mentioned a few times that the boot lid spoiler on the Speed Pack, Aero Pack and the 2009 XKR-S are the same thing, same size, etc...

But there are three different part numbers, and three different prices for them too. The XKR-S one is around £550, the Speed Pack is around £350 or so, the Aero Pack one has a superceded part number which comes in around £180.

I found this picture of the Speed Pack, and the spoiler is friggen huge.

This is what I need, I must have it!

But i'm confused because I see some boot lid spoilers on ebay.uk which are a similar design, but don't look as big...

Also there seems to be a difference in the antenna connection, for the early XKR-S it's noted as "2-pin antenna connector" but the later Speed Pack is "3-pin antenna connector"

Fiddling the wiring is the least of my concern, what i don't want is to get a bargain online and find out when it arrives that it's not the one I want.

Did the later XKR have a similar design boot spoiler, that covers the rear face of the boot lid, but not as tall as the Speed Pack?

Maybe the angle of the photo makes it look bigger than it really is. The attached pics are of the SpeedPack spoiler from the brochures and accessory guides plus one of the XKR-S. Not sure why but the accessory guide has two different part numbers broken down by model year.

Thanks mate.

This is the confusion. C2P17584XXX is listed for the 2008/2009 XKR-S and is £500-odd, the C2P22061XXX was the "Aeropack" one which has been superceded, no longer available. https://www.jaguarclassicparts.com/uk/part/C2P22061XXX

Then the Speed Pack one is C2P22257XXX, which is £350 or so.

What's the difference? Apart from the antenna connector?

Only real difference in the pics is the missing name plate on the newer ones. Possibly the spoiler base drops lower on them?

According to what you have posted the spoilers shown are for 2010 MY+ one is for the 2010-2011 and the other for 2012+. In the States the 2012+ MY has the leaper over the license plate and the 2010-2011 has the word Jaguar on the trim piece over the license plate area. Jaguar part number C2P17584XXX refers to MY 2010-2011 and C2P22061XXX refers to MY 2012+ according to XK vehicle accessories catalog published by Jaguar.
since you have a MY 2009 according to your posting, you may want to check with Mina Galleries, Adamesh or some other after market supplier.

The trim piece above the license plate is separate from the boot lid spoiler.

The boot lid spoilers from the later models do fit on the earlier ones, there are several 4.2L XKR's on this forum with the boot lid spoilers from 5.0L cars fitted.

My question is; are there different sizes of this style of boot lid spoiler, or are they all the same size?

I will be selling my Mina one cheap as soon as I get my new Jaguar OEM one installed in the next few weeks. I bought the genuine one from Diana Worrall in Norfolk UK dmworrall95_at_gmail.com for a reasonable price.

As far as part numbers and pricing, I have seen this before with Jaguar, sometimes due to a supplier change or sometimes a revision in the part. I do believe there was a change in the antenna AND I believe the early versions had an issue with warping which was addressed in some fashion I am not privy to. As far as installation they are all the same regardless of model year.

So the $10 question is would one of the newer spoilers get rid of the sat radio zit on the early cars?

No, it is the same antenna that is already located in the standard spoiler. I don't use sat radio and have often contemplated removing the antenna however that would mean body work and a repaint to fill the hole.

As far as I'm aware the sizes are much and such the same. As u102768 says, that camera angle is exaggerating the size of the spoiler. I don't think a spoiler from a facelift 5.0 car (i.e. when the slimmer headlights etc. were introduced) will fit a 4.2 or pre-facelift 5.0 car.

Also, watch out for the leaper badge on the lower section; it's mounted with two small posts that go into holes in the spoiler, if you don't want the leaper then you'll have the holes to patch up.

Sorry that doesn't fully answer your questions fully but hopefully that goes some way towards the full picture.

No changes were made to the boot lid/hatch so all spoilers are interchangeable. Good catch on the leaper though, I did not know about the alignment pins.

The pic in the original post appears to be an after market spoiler, similar to the one in this pic (Mina I believe)...the difference being it is bigger than any of the stock ones as it goes down the vertical portion of the trunk as opposed to only sitting on the top flat horizontal part of the trunk stock. EDIT: It looks like they did change the rear spoiler over the MY's, as I just looked at a 2015 pic and it goes down the vertical as well, while the earlier cars only mounted on the top horizontal.

2010-2011 Rear Spoiler

Also, coupes and convertibles may have been different (not sure).

This is mine on my 2007 car, bought it on ebay uk for £80.00 second hand was blue, got it resprayed for £50.00 and fitted myself, easy to do. Got a bargain i think, the leaper was on it, it has 2 alignment pins on the back. It has the brake light fitted, only hard to see as i have it tinted.

Here's my rear spoiler from the same angle as your first pic - it's standard Speed Pack, and I think it has the same dimensions:

SNG Barrett has one listed with a vert deck lid attached.

Jaguar XKR XK Deck Trunk Lid & Spoiler 2007 & Up | eBay

Pity eBay's listing mechanic is so broken
