Smile Bovee 1000

Hello guys,
Those of you who use the bovee 1000 for streaming music from the phone, do you leave the Bovee connected after leaving and locked the car or do you disconnect it? I was wondering if it uses power after I leaving the car and in the long term could drain the battery.
Thanks 😊 And have a nice easter🐣

It's powered off with the ignition. It works flawlessly.

It does work flawlessly but it actually comes on in convenience mode so isn't ignition controlled in the traditional sense.

As soon as you open the door or unlock the car various modules wake up and one of those powers up the Bovee.

It powers down when the module it is talking to goes to sleep. Locking the door after you exit is the fastest way to achieve that.

Default Leave it plugged in

I have left my Bovee plugged in for a couple of years now. No issues.

Works fantastic and no drain! Plus it makes a neat sci fi beep routine on starting up, and I find it faster to get music going to the speakers than the factory bluetooth in my 2011 Jetta TDI Sportwagen.

You must have an Iphone. Load a song, any song, into your Itunes library on the phone. There must be something in there for it to work.

What I would do is see if you have any issues when directly connecting a device to the 30 pin connector and if that eliminates the pause issue. I’d also see if you could use the bovee in another place connected to a different 30 pin to see if it works there. Because it could be the bovee but it could be inconsistent power from the cable. Then talk to the retailer you bought from.

With the bovee, the master control is from the XK headunit. Press play there and it will play anything that is cued up by your phone.

Fantastic! Thanks for the info it works a treat. I Downloaded imusic popped one song in and Hey Presto started to play without the irritating pause pause pause.

Much Appreciated to you and the forum

I ran into a small issue when I got a new phone. Android, if it matters. The bluetooth was constantly disconnecting and reconnecting. Very irritating. I finally figured out that it was a setting in my phone that it was trying to download contacts to the car. I unchecked the box and it worked perfectly again.

Unfortunately for the 1 second pause (no song in Itunes) issue that doesn't work also. I tried it all back in the day before this solution was found.

No worries, whoever discovered this was a life saver. We sent back our Bovee because of the 1 second pause, then a while later this was sorted out as the easy fix. I bought the unit again, loaded something in Itunes, boom bada bing, like you said works like a treat.

I've had mine for about a week. I've got an iPhone 8. Love it but it's a little glitchy. What I notice:
It can be a little finicky in terms of docking the phone. And the start/stop/pause functions work better if you press the car's touchscreen buttons rather than your phone. I press pause on my phone and often it starts playing again. Not so if I press pause on the touchscreen.
Also, if you're switching between phones you've got to "undock" the first phone (and I find shutting it off helps) before trying to dock the second phone.
And yes I leave it plugged in all the time. No issues on that so far.

Hi, just got my Bovee but it doesn't power on. When connecting it to a mini USB cable in the house, it powers up, the blue light is flashing and I can connect to it. Does that mean I need to have a separate power source for it? I thought the adapter would power it?
If anyone has any advice on how this works, or if it has a battery build in that needs charging first? I thought I plug it into the adapter and it would power up?
PS: engine was running

Default Bovee 1000 pwr

The device does not need any additional power source once it is connected via the iPOD cable. Make sure that your cable is operational by connecting an iPHONE and playing your music files. You may need a serial to lightening port adapter depending on your device.
