My indy Jag mechanic finds only using OEM parts as being very important on Jag's; he works on more variety and quantity of Jag than almost anyone in New England. That being said, he was quite pleased with how well the Akebono's worked with OEM rotors (on my VDP). No squeaks or any kind of issues. For sure will be what I go with when it's time to brakes all around.

After calling Advance auto parts for the front pads for a 2010 XK, they are telling me the Akebono Euro 938 is the part number. The rears are correct at being Euro 1095. How do I confirm the correct Akebono part number? Contact Akebono? I've left a message on their voice mail and am waiting for a reply.

My Jaguar service writer mentioned it was ok with Jaguar to install ceramic pads. Jaguar will install them for me.

After speaking with an Akebono rep, I'm glad I didn't run out to pick up Akebono pads for my 2010 XK. Akebono DOES NOT make front ceramic pads for a 2010 XK. Yes, they do make them for the 2007-2009 fronts and rears. Euro 1241 fronts, Euro 1095 rears. Now I'm stuck with just getting the Euro 1095 for my rears and keep the factory fronts (Black front rims and clean rear rims) I see Centric is another company that shows front and rear ceramics, but I don't know much about them.
Have you seen these. Just looked these up for you.
They say it's a match.

The long story is.......The Akebono Rep told me the following: There is an application # 1472 which is Akebono's design number for the actual size and shape of every pad. This application number is the match for the 2010 XK and some early XFs etc. However, there are not enough cars in circulation for Akebono to produce the front pad for the 2010 which is a different pad than 2006-2009. What you are seeing he told me is the incorrect part number which Advance Auto Parts, Pep Boys, NAPA, and a number of other outlets have in their catalogue but it is incorrect and must be updated He told me it might take a few months before the retailers get it corrected. He even told me the dimensions for Euro 938 are way off and will not work. The 2006-2009 Euro 1241 is also a different size, might fit, but highly advised against it do to it being part of the braking system. Bottom line is, I'm going with the Akebono Rep. Even tirerack does not have a part number for the front Akebonos for a 2010. If you call them, they don't have a part number. I'm planning on replacing the rears with Euro 1095 and hope something comes up in the future. I'm afraid of another manufacturer at this time. Sorry for the long explaination, but I'm frustrated and wanted those pads.

The learning curve is steep on these cars. Big problem is Jaguar never produced these cars in large numbers, so aftermarket parts manufacturers don't want to make parts that won't sell or have to keep in an inventory for years.
The forums here have curbed some frustration and a vast amount information from other members have helped tremendously.
Sometimes the frustration is so heavy, I wish I would have never bought the darn brand.

Thanks for the info Sjtyrer..... How did you find the Centric front pads with regards to dust, stopping, and noise compared to the Akebonos? How many miles did you put on the Centrics compared to the Akebonos? I will not be getting Centrics for the rears but I will be putting the Akebonos on the rears. I may not have a choice if there is nothing else available for the fronts. The problem again is that with cars that are not mass produced, parts are harder to find. That's the price for exclusivity!
