Hmmm... I did put ceramics (Wagners from Advance) on a Lexus I had a while back, and the rotors did warp slightly. But I can't remember if they warped due to the pads or if they were already warped.

Don't use gas. Just roll an edge with your finger and peel. That's why you have to put it on thick. 4-5 coats minimum.

My experience has been that ArmorAll and Eagle One wheel protectants work best is there is no wax on the wheels. Otherwise, the products tend to bead up and roll off the wheel.
I went to ceramic pads and the occasional (every third wash) protectant and brake dust is no issue.
