Default Brake pad wear

While cleaning my wheels and getting check on whether I'll have a problem during my inspection next week I took a measurement of my brake pads. So the rear pads were at .378" and the front pads were at .475". These are the original OEM pads that came with the car and I now have just turned 22,000 miles. So what has been the avg./normal life of the pads. No track use just out cruising the country side.

the life of brake pads depends on your driving style as well as highway and local use everyone is different

That seems good to me. I had my rears swapped out at about 25 K. But I've been thinking about it, and LA might be the worst place in the world for brake wear. I probably depress the brake pedal 25-30 times (or more) for a 5-mile trip.
And yeah, my rears wore quicker than my fronts as well.

I just had my rear pads replaced at 25k miles. I now have Textar ceramic pads on the rear and still have 5mm+ on the front pads. When it comes time to replace the front I'm going with Textar ceramics as well.

I have a note in my Tyre & Brake maintenance spreadsheet that OE front pads are 13mm when new and rear pads are 10mm.

As has already been said, wear rate is very much dependent on driving style but I replace rear pads at almost double the frequency of fronts.

These modern traction control/vehicle stability systems seem to wear rear pads at a much faster rate than on older vehicles. We used to expect rear pads to last two to three times longer than fronts.

Because of the excessive dust, I replaced my OEM pads with Centric Posi Quiet Ceramics/front, and Akebono Euro Ceramics/rear, shortly after purchasing the car about 6 years ago. I do very little driving but mostly city. I drove 5,000 miles since replacement. I currently have 11,600 miles. I'm fairly certain there is minimum wear at this time.
