Brake Pads (Brembo NAO Ceramic) and Tires (Nitto Motivo) Datapoint for XKR
Hello Everyone,
I wanted to replace the brake pads and tires on my 2015 XKR and I spent quite a bit of time on this forum doing research.
I really wanted GG rated pads all the way around and thought I found them in Jurid pads but they actually did not fit my car (they were too thick despite being the correct part numbers).
I had a positive experience installing Brembo NAO Ceramic Pads on the rear of my previous XJR so I decided to try them on this car. They ended up being rated FF in the front and GG in the rear.
I have had them on for about 8 weeks now and I am very pleased. Dust has been reduced, they stop REALLY well, there is zero noise, and cold bite is, in my mind, about the same as stock. So, at this point I feel that I can recommend them without hesitation.
Tires were another area where I spent a lot of time doing research. I wanted all season performance tires that were somewhat reasonably priced and had a good mileage rating. A tall order, I know.
I found a few threads on this topic and a couple of people mentioned Nitto Motivo's. I had never tried them so I decided to give it a shot. I went with 295/30/20 on the rear (I have aftermarket 10.5" wheels) and stock on the front. Total cost for all four (without mounting and balance) was $798.
It has only been two months but I am very happy with the tires. They perform well in both wet and dry conditions, they are as quiet as I could ask for, and I think they look great. They are actually a little bit wide for their size when I compared their actual width to other options and they fill out my wheels very nicely.
I know that these things are very subjective but I have been happy enough with both of these purchases that I thought it worthwhile to share with the group. Hopefully, someone finds this useful at some point.
I have attached a couple of pics...sorry I don't have any looking directly on the sides and rear. Maybe I'll get out and take some soon.
Cheers!
