Default Brochure 'xk - a celebration'

Hi everyone,

Just been looking through the 2015 XK brochure kindly posted by 'GGG'. It looks like Jaguar's graphic designers/artworkers made a bit of a slip-up ? On page 8 it lists the 'Signature' model as being a 385 Supercharged - unless I'm mistaken that model is a normally aspirated carl ?? Can't believe that mistake wasn't picked up before going to print - unless, of course, I'm missing something ??

Have a good day everyone & stay safe !

GGG is in the UK and he posted the 2015 UK brochure - the photos are all RHD. That misteak isn't in the 2015 North American brochure.
https://www.auto-brochures.com/jaguar.html

I prefer "misteak", as it is autological - a word that describes itself. It is what it is - a mistake.

I should think the agency would've got some stick over that error (if spotted) Having said that the mistake probably lies with Jaguar themselves - the advertising studios can only work with what they're given by their client. You'd think someone at JLR would've checked it all over though before going to print.

The Signature model was definitely N/A but is an oddity. Despite mine being sold and registered as a Signature model, Jaguar insist it's a Portfolio:

Looks like JLR Marketing weren't talking to Engineering. Production were still building Portfolio specification but Sales called it by a different name and knocked 10K UKP off the price.

That totals up to be Just A Badge though, right? Buy your own badge and slap it somewhere.

Does that make it a poseur, like this poor man's BMW? It's not a BMW and it's not a 745Li.

It's really a 2013-2015 Honda Accord with aftermarket taillights. It's a joke.

I looked at the Brochure and see it's missing the 2010 XK, first year for the new 5L, what's the deal ?
What makes an XK a Portfolio ? My CarFAX calls mine a Portfolio, but I can't find a description or upgrades that show an upgrade to a standard XL

You are correct, the auto-brochures.com website I cited in Post #3, above, is missing the 2010 brochure. The 2011 brochure is not the same as the 2010 brochure because 2010 was the only model year that Adaptive Cruise Control was standard equipment on the XKR. It was optional on the XK.

What makes an XK a Portfolio? That was asked and answered in 2013. Here's the link:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ackage-102558/

P.S. The most obvious feature that identifies an X150 as a Portfolio is the sill plate. Here's mine:

Talking about brochures, could someone in the US with a 2009 XK show me a photo how the adjustable frontseat safetybelt anchorages is working. This feature is mention in the US brochure but not in the European brochure and I can’t figure out if it is on mine. Is it a US spec feature only?

I also see that in the US brochure for 2009, the Portfolio isn’t mention, but in the European brochures it is.

Have a nice weekend all of you

Check out page 19 on the 2009 brochure in the sticky section. It says that the front seat safety belt is height adjustable

From the US 2009 brochure

My 2009 XKR Portfolio is a convertible, and the seat belt height is not adjustable.

I don't see how a coupe's seat belts could be any different from those in a convertible. Both coupe and convertible don't have a center post. What would the height adjustment mechanism attach to?

Eagerly waiting for a coupe owner's reply.

Talking

Could it be the anchor( or what should I call it) on top of the seat back who’s height adjustable???

Or is it a print error ( taken from the XJ brochure)

I've never observed the coupe seatbelt situation... doesn't it attach to the top of the seat regardless of coupe or convertible?
