I think it would have more value since the owner would typically have better credit and have to care for it knowing they would take a hit should it need work at the end of the lease.

In May 2013, I bought a 2009 Jaguar XKR Portfolio Edition convertible that was a prior lease by 2 other people. The car had 13750 miles when purchased, found all service records, when the car entered the USA, what dealer had the car servicing etc. Lots of records are available on these cars. Car is in showroom condition.
I don't believe that being a leased vehicle makes any difference in value. It always goes down to the condition and mileage of the car. I wouldn't let a leased vehicle prohibit a purchase.
As any buyer you need to complete your own due diligence and investigate and find the history and service records of the car. Then make a determination of the value. Carfax and AutoCheck can be found to be quite reliable to cross check the history of the vehicle.

Since reporting services like Carfax lists lease cars as (I guess) negatives, I suppose it makes the car either less valuable or a bargain, depending on your point of view. I bought my 07 in February of 2010 from the second owner. The first owner was a Broadway producer who leased it through his company, shipped it to his home in Palm Beach and rarely drove it. I paid $38,000 for it and at the time it had been driven a total of 5826 miles! It still smelled new.

Leased cars (esp. high-end ones) are some of the best values in today's used car market, in my opinion. Part of that reason is because (as stated above) Carfax reports it as being a negative. It's no different than any other used car, it all depends on how it was treated.
Also remember that leases general limit the miles a person can put on the car, and will charge extra at the end of the lease for any excessive wear and tear. That means that you'll often find low mileage, unmolested vehicles at lease end. You will definitely not find a car that's been modified, which is a plus in my book.
I've leased a ton of cars and also bought a couple at the end of the lease. I take good care of my vehicles and would never even think about abusing them -- I want them to look and drive great while I have them. I'm sure some people feel differently, but that's my take on the subject.

As mentioned my 2009 XKR convertible was a prior lease vehicle. The CarFax report DOES NOT make any negative comments since the XKR was a leased vehicle by other people. The Carfax report provides all detail of the car and there is no reference to car values listed on a carfax document.

My last three Jaguars have been ex-lease straight from the main dealer. The advantages to me are that throughout the term of the lease there has been:
1. full main dealer service history
2. all required warranty work completed
3. any recalls implemented
It may be different in the US but here in the UK there is a penalty at the end of the lease for excess mileage and any bodywork or interior damage.
These cars are generally in higher than average condition.

As I understand it, most Jags coming off Jag Credit lease go to auction but Jag dealers have first crack at them. Therefore, the most desirable examples end up on dealer lots. That's not to say that the remainder are dogs but there will be a fair share over a certain mileage, in less popular colors or with condition issues. So, like any purchase, due diligence is called for.
The above is not 1st hand knowledge but told to me by a Jag dealer. Can anybody confirm?
