a/c refrigerant low

Default a/c refrigerant low

the a/c works fine in mt 07 XKR but sometimes cooling goes a bit down and starts a hissing sound,,
a/c tech said that refrigernat needs a top up but we couldn't locate the filling nipple,,

do you think refrigerant is low?
can you help me locate the filling nipple?

I hesitate to offer this, but will anyway, locate the 'larger" of two dia AC lins connected to the compressor. This will be the low pressure or suction line. On this line (larger of the two) should be a schrader valve (like a bicycle tire) fitting. Forgive me is I make this sound so juvenile, as I don't mean too. Just want to insure one is making the right choice.

thanks a lot for the info,, but do we also need to locate the high pressure port?

OK, if by what you call a "pressure port", you are referring to the port for attaching the hose for filling with freon, then, this is the schrader valve term, to which, I was referring. Most all of the 134A filling containers, I've seen offer a "how to" on the process.
Keep two thoughts in mind....
1. idle the engine
2. turn your AC system on high

If you have, (you should) what's called a "pencil thermometer", insert it in a central AC outlet. Then have it....good luck!
