Car cutting out and gear selector flashing D - RESOLVED
Hi everyone - seeking advice. I was driving my 2011 XKR earlier today and when I came to a stop sign, the engine just cut out - this has happened a few times over the last few months. I then went out later in the day, and the same thing happened. I just re-started the car again, and then whenever I came to a stop, the engine would start idling very low and the gear selector kept flashing D - I was able to put it into N and then D, and I could then accelerate again, but the car was very "jumpy" - this happened about 5 times, and the idle seems inconsistent. I have an icarsoft tool, and the following codes were displayed:
P010B Mass or current air flow B circuit - range/performance
P0500 Vehicle speed sensor A / Vehicle speed sensor circuit malfunction
B100A Fuel pump authorisation
U0415 Invalid data received from ABS control unit
U2005 Vehicle speed
U1A24 MOST ring complete. no communication
U0140 Lost communication with body control unit
Any ideas on what is wrong with the car - I was thinking it had something to do with the throttlebody or fuel/air mixture ?
Thanks in advance,
Joe

Always. Out-of-range signals happen all the time. No reason to jump to the conclusion a particular DTC is a permanent fault before checking for repeatability.

Quick update for you - and I must admit, I'm fairly embarrassed about not looking properly to see the problem (a case of not having enough time)!!! So, the reason it was behaving strangely was that one of the air intakes (that eventually go to the throttle body) had worked it way loose - so fortunately a very easy and cheap fix :-)
