Default The Car Wizard works on an F-Type

I feel for the owner. Stuff like this is why I would get my XKR serviced in IL after the dealer in New Orleans stopped doing service on "old" Jaguars.

Does anyone else feel the car wizard is a little too righteous at times? I'm sure there are times he has misdiagnosed a car repair previously. Admittedly however the repairs completed historically/the engine swap on the F Type look very shoddy.

I watch him because I was following his restore of the Ferrari 308 . Having had one it was interesting to see how he approached some of the issues. As for the F type it seemed to over dramatic to me. Sounded like most of the problems they discovered were related to not restoring the wiring harness back to its mounting provisions. Didn't hear of any mechanical issues . Hey just an interesting video.

That's a real Superbird. It's a salvage former NASCAR car, has a Hemi but not Numbers Matching. Plus that Restored title.... still worth a buttload though.

Damn, but that's a tragic interior. My brother in law's Hyundai crapwagon SUV looks better than that. All it needs is a bunch of crushed Bud empties on the floor.

And that steering wheel gives new meaning to "skeevy". I'd have to wear gloves.

BUT: Jag certainly knows how to apply a coating of paint, eh?

Oh man, peaking my interest again. When I was looking 10 years ago, nice ones, originally $2K, were going for around $300K.

It's Tyler Hoover's from Hoovies Garage fame, see here: https://www.youtube.com/c/HooviesGarage/videos
He has published four vids on it so far, the first back on Dec 14 2021.
In the first one he says it was the cheapest Superbird for sale in the US but he doesn't say exactly how much he paid for it, or if he does it's somewhere in one of the four vids and I'm too lazy to check them all!

Really the proof is in the pudding for how he handles mistakes and we see a righteous and sanitized image. However, you can make earnest mistakes but you can’t fix apathy. I think the issue here is that the previous shop appears to have done a meh job and didn’t button things up.

It could be apathy, it could be that some shady **** on the F type owner withholding payment partway through the swap or wanted the car gone asap, we don’t know anything other than Omega Auto Clinic shot a video showing what it did. Securing visible wiring guides and installing bracketry and mounts though is really the easy **** that takes so little time near the end of the job. Even if I were dealing with a ***** customer I’d finish that up since I’d know how vocal they might be and I don’t want to load their gun. I’m leaning towards apathy.

I’ve seen some hacky **** done on cars at expensive well respected shops; and solid work done by the towing company mechanical shop behind a McDonald’s near me.

The scruffiest interior I have ever seen in an F-Type, but Mrs Wizard say that it is in really good shape (!). The car was obviously (ab)used by someone who had no idea whatsoever of how to treat a Jaguar…or any other premium make.

I generally like his videos but this one was a little over the top. I didnt see anything that couldnt be fixed in 20 minutes sans the crack-ho interior. But, if the car isnt running right after and engine swap and thats the level of care from the previous shop, who know what monsters are hiding below.

Just one of those random YouTube rants about something to complain about. I think it is more click bait than anything worth fretting about. My Neanderthal instincts kicked in immediately and I stopped watching after a minute because it was not worth my time.
