Default Changing supercharger coolant pump to bosch 010 on x150 xkr

Hi all,

Reading here Many have changed the hella c2c1314 aux supercharger pump on the x100 xkr and other 4.2 supercharged cars to the Bosch 0392022010 (fitted to merc 5.5 supercharged) which is larger but better and cheaper. However, I have not been able to find anyone who has fitted the Bosch 010 to the x150. The hella pump is the same part number for all 4.2 supercharged so The Bosch 010 will work but will it fit? The bracket holding the hella pump in place and location seems to be different on every 4.2 supercharged. So has anyone fitted the Bosch 0392022010 to their x150 xkr? Will it fit?

Welcome to the forum. I'd recommend if you want to stick around that you post up an introduction in that sub forum before the mods ban you for not following the rules.

Per the pump 'upgrade' I have my reservations. I'd want to monitor the temperature drops across the I/C's and radiator during a WOT run. If the temp delta's don't change much, there minimal heat transfer from the air to the coolant so the water is flowing too quickly. If it's excessive it needs more flow / volume through the coolers. I'd also be curious what heat soak levels are from running hard over a distance to see how effective the radiator is at rejecting heat.

Check out page 1544 on in the X150 service manual where it describe the I/C cooling circuit.

The Mercedes crowd have moved on from the Bosch 010 pump and many now run the Pierburg CWA 050 or CWA 100. Both of these out flow the Bosch unit and are designed to be used in charge cooler applications. I saw a 17-20 degree f. reduction in I.A.T. by swapping the pump only to a CWA 100. This was on a Mercedes not a Jaguar though and the Mercedes system was not a sophisticated as the Jaguars. Yes, my Bosch was still fully functional. Times and technology move on.
CWA 050 has a similar current draw to the Bosch pump at 6 amps or less but the CWA 100 can draw around 10 -12 amps at start up so if you go this route, you may want to add a relay if you decide to go that route. It will be something I will do when my stock Hella pump dies.

I would like to know as well, If there are any benefits on the X150 to upgrade the pump? I guess to big of is not a good thing form my limited research on this.
Or what other effective methods to keeping the intake temps down?
