I attended the Classic Auto Show at Orange County Fair Grounds today and displayed my Pantera there, Huge turnout and a nice selection of beautiful cars/ It continues tomorrow but I'm not able to return. Any other southern Californians attend? I did see two Jaguars, a beautiful X100 XK8 in "as new" condition with 117,000 miles and a hot rodded XKE coupe. Anybody going tomorrow?
I'm with you there and also don't go for the side exhaust. I don't mind hot rod changes to the E-type but prefer that they be done under the bonnet. But every one's taste is difference so that's what makes the world go around.
I wasn't crazy about the "hot rodding' of the XKE either, but it was the only Jag "in town," so I snapped the picture. It, at least, was painted flawlessly.
I am not going to knock American Ingenuity and modesty/tastes. Sometimes its literally unbridled....but such is the trejectory of passion, sometimes it overshoots.
BTW your PantTearer takes my breath away no matter how many times I see it. I have to say to my generation, that was the most beautiful car ever made. The 308 second.

Queen and Country,
I won't disagree with you. I think of all the Italian wedge design cars of the 1970s, the Pantera had the best dimensions, styling, and aggressive stance of any of them. If the Miura didn't have that triiangular panel right behind the door and in front of the rear quarter, I'd rank it as high, but that break ruins the profile for me.
Love the 308 as well. Also a smooth transition from the back of the door to the rear quarter, and a gorgeous, sensual body. One of Ferraris' greatest designs imho.
