And it appears they carefully stopped driving it at 29,665 miles. Just enough below 30K to make it feel like the 20's. Amazing how that happened!
Unless i saw original docs, such as a carfax ordered from carfax, or better yet service records, supporting the mileage, I'd be suspicious….

What I meant was, are there other types of actual CarFax reports that are different than a “carfax ordered from carfax,”
The inference, I took from the boldened quote, is that there may be something nefarious, if you receive a CarFax, that you didn’t actual order yourself. Like a CarFax that a dealer sends you.

Now you got me thinking...... if I ever need a carfax from a seller, I'll ask for the actual website that it came from, as carfaxes are on the interwebz for awhile after they are ordered. At least to see it on their own system. No more printed copies for me!!!

Never, ever rely on a CarFax report to buy a car, as not all service and repairs are reported to CarFax. A clean CarFax report is not worth the paper it's printed on.
But you can rely on CarFax to not buy a car.
You have no recourse against CarFax. Read their
CarFax Terms of Use

In the case of this car, a genuine CarFax would show Totaled due to Undercarriage Damage. SHOULD show?
The Ad for this car has expired, so maybe we will never find any info on a possible sale or whatever.

Yeah but CF is great to verify number of owners and where the car spent time. Agree CF won't have everything but verifiable reports and dates of service (from dealers, larger shops) is still useful info. Combo of a PPI, CF and buyer exam/test drive is a reasonable basis to buy a car. Better yet, if it's a private sale, is to see owner's garage. Bought a Lexus from a guy that had a perfect classic 'vette in his garage and lots of well organized tools.
