Common 2010 xk repairs

I have noticed while surfing carfax reports for low mileage 2010 XKs a number of cars that have had water pumps replaced, rear tail lamp assemblies replaced, and wiring repairs. Is this common for the 2010 XKs with such low mileage (under 20,000 miles) or is it just the few I've picked up on?

There were several recalls on the 2010 XKs. One led to replacing the gas tank. One required replacing the power assist hose, piping and connections. One required a software change affecting the fuel pump. There was also one having to do with mislabeling of correct tire pressure that led to improper inflation. I also remember reading somewhere that there was a problem with water pumps on some o the 2010s. My take is that if these issues are listed on a CarFax report, the problems were corrected.

I've noticed that as well. I believe I've seen it on the earlier XKs as well with low mileage. Considering it's a possible issue, what kind of dollars are we looking at for the water pump replacement?

It's basically a fan that activates once the car door opens and stays running up to 30 minutes after the car is off. The aspirator fan draws cabin air over a temperature sensor so that the climate control system can be better prepared for necessary changes to the interior temperature when the car is started. One more item to look out for.

I changed my aspirator a few months ago. It was noisy and I found that the air-con wasn't as reactive as the one in my old X350. The aspirator has a foam 'washer' between it and the dash and I think over time this compresses or hardens and the fan noise starts to get amplified through the dash.
When I changed mine I found that I could control how much noise it made by small adjustments in the fixing screws.
You can get to it easily to have a play by pulling the trim piece off that is over the top of the steering wheel. One tug and the trim is off. Changing the aspirator is more involved because you need to take more trim off to get to the plug.
The air-con temperature control is my XKR still poor but the fan noise has gone. The air-con seems to blow hot air for far longer than it needs to in the mornings then gets too cold after that..
