Ford GT!!
What are you looking for? Is the XKR staying or going? If staying, the 991TT, Vantage, and DBS seem a bit redundant to me. If going, I would get the DBS Volant with a clutch pedal. In fact, that is what I intend to do in the future.
What is the purpose of the car? Track car, get the 12C. I have followed one on the track (until the instructor riding with the owner took over the wheel - then I got lapped at a high rate of speed!) and it is one heck of a car. But, there is one in my neighborhood that I see weekly and it just isn't that pretty on the street. Likewise, the Murci and Gallardo just don't do it for me. Hence, my comment above. If you are going for the supercar in that price range, the Ford GT is the winner for me. It is beautiful, rare, and not ostentatious on the level of the others. Not the fastest, but unless you are tracking, who cares?
I used to be all about form over function but find myself more and more captured by the beauty of cars and less concerned with the numbers. At the end of the day, all the cars in this range should keep you happy on the street performance wise.
Alpha 4C just can't get me excited without a clutch pedal and seems outclassed by all the others.

Another way to look at it, my mustang has only 43 less RWTQ but at a higher Rs (4100), and has only 200 less RWHP but at at 6500 Rs and is a 5sp. cvt! Cost $200kl Less

I recently read a review by someone who owned both a 12C and F458. He was very critical of the 12C, commenting on how poorly (dangerous) it handled when the nannies were turned off, how awkward and difficult it was to close the door, other annoyances, and how its value has plunged. He couldn't say enough about how he loved the F458, and how it's value is better.
Maybe do a search...I think it might have been Road and Track Editor. I'll post if I find it again. The article affirmed my impression of the F458, and how it might be the only car I would consider a step up from what I have. But since I just put over 6000 miles and 7 track days on my '14 Viper in the last 2 months I'm probably better to avoid a Ferrari purchase!
Good luck with your decision...I'm sure it will be an agonizing one!

THe 12C I saw at LRP last moth was the most incredible firemist red metallic I've ever seen. NO car paint has ever taken my breath away like that car's. Truly the most amazing color EVER!! Like said above, you'll be able to drive the McLaren without fear of ridiculous Ferrari 10,000 mile resale bale. It is the most absurd thing about Ferrari to me.

Bruce,
That is funny as I've been on the McLaren forum and what had gotten me more interested is reading several reviews from owners that have 12C and multiple Ferrari's and/or Lambos. They tend to say the 12C is just leapfrogs better in several ways. And this actually makes sense as not only did McLaren have to come strong to get out of their own shadow but they also have to compete with the Italian establishment. McLaren owners are usually NOT first time supercar buyers as most must check the dreamcar box and we all grew up wanting Italian Lambo or Ferrari.
That was my initial concern too. But after much research I think I'm set on 12C - for now at least. It has the look, sound, drama, doors & fire exhaust, speed & handling and even the pedigree - McClaren - need we say more. And best of all as some have said, you an put miles on it - which is why we buy these care - we love to drive them.
Here is a short 20 min video that really demonstrates the McLaren philosophy and attention to perfection. It is eye opening. The brand and vehicles seem especially like easy to personally connect with - contrary to other comments. I like my cars being a well kept secret (928, NSX, 500E) haha.

Are considering a new car purchase or one in the secondary market that has suffered some depreciation.
I ran across this beauty today...

Used 2012 McLaren MP4-12C in Boston | Test Drive a McLaren - Stock: JX1
I've been trying to get our company to pitch McLaren as a customer. We are a Data Leakage Prevention solution used by Ferrari and other auto manufacturers to protect their IP. Would love to see the facility in Woking.

Another example of a Ferrari owner loving 12C more. In this case deciding to get rid of the renown and beloved 430 Scud after getting 12C.
