Greetings Baxter,
If you have been following my thread from a couple of days ago, I obviously don't know. But I suspect my issue may be related to a problem with the latching mechanism. In any event, I will be watching this to see if any body has a definitive answer. From my experience, the allen bolt on header turns and does nothing. I plan to tear into it today, providing I think it can be done without damaging the brittle plastic components. Good Luck, if I learn anything I will post.

Baxter, I just posted pictures of the latching mechanism. With mine no matter how many turns, it would not open or close because one of the cables was bad. To remove the header panel is relatively easy. the manual says 6 screw and 4 clips. There were 8 screws. the clips are internal, carefully pry once screw are out.

CeeJay is right - it's a LOT of turns. More than you'd think. Just start cranking it. Don't worry - you can go kinda hard-n-fast with it. And if memory serves (White XKR could confirm this), at some point the cranking will actually get easier as the top has closed all the way and something in the mechanism disengages. But remember you've REALLY gotta pull down on the top pretty hard to get those two latch hook close enough to engage before you start turning.
