That goes back to my post #20, with an out of position top cable. Guess I need to find that thread.

Default Last Update (HOPEFULLY....)

So where I'm at:
Top seems to be working, EXCEPT: sometimes, if I shut the car off while the top is in the fully-down, retracted position, when I fire it up again I get the hated red "HOOD NOT LATCHED" triangle.
BUT... so far, at least, the top goes up and latches as normal, rear windows go up, all good. Red triangle goes away. I'm hoping I can keep this going until I return to LA. Though I'm thinking of getting a new battery just for the hell of it.
(ODD OTHER BATTERY SYMPTOM: sometimes I cannot access the climate control screen. I can still use the rotary knob to turn the fan speed up and down, and it seems the up and down manual temp switches work so all is good. Only bummer is the cooled seats are unavailable. This goes away in a day or two. Maybe part of the same problem?)

Default RESOLVED

Posted this elsewhere but thought I'd throw it on here as well to "resolve" the thread. Upshot: sometimes a battery swap followed by a reset works, but sometimes it is indeed something else.
At least I'm now an expert in raising and lowering the top manually!

If you're still having trouble with the flap, it's because the cord that's attached to the flap and then to the frame has opened up. Thus there's no tension on the flap to pull it closed. If the flap is stuck, it's because there are two tracks ... one for the front of the flap and on for the rear of the flap. The front flap is likely on the rear track, which is shorter, thus causing the flap to not move to the closed position. I just spent a day removing the interior in the rear to get to the flap mechanism and was able to repair the cord. I can provide more details if needed.

FWIW, on my right-hand side flap the actual small cord that pulls it shut is severed, and has been for a while. Flap is constantly in a fully retracted (open) position. Doesn't seem to affect convertible top opening/closing at all. I should fix it but it seems to have no ill effects.
