Convertible top problematic with opening and securing
Help! I’ve had to bring in my 07 jag Xk numerous times to reset the control module?? To make top open and close properly.. last week my finger slipped off convertible opening/closing switch and top stopped and refused to reengage.. am I missing something or is there a fix that doesn’t involve taking my beloved jag to dealer when this happens again.. other than that the car is perfect! 87,000 miles..

Not sure about it but have you try a full reset and window reset?

To do so, I would suggest you close the hood manually (the procedure is in the user manual). Then I would suggest you make a reset.
Before that, have you checked the battery is fully charged (12.9V unplugged if I'm correct)? if not charge it. once done reset the system by touching the + and - cables for 15 seconds prior to repluging them to the battery.
After this you'll need to reset the windows system. To do so, you lower the left window to its full by pressing the button and keep doing so for 2sec once it's fully down. Then drop the button and push it for 2 sec again.
Now you close the window to its full by pulling the button, and keep doing so once fully closed. Drop it then pull it for 2 sec again.
Do the same for the right wondow.
Then start your engine and try opening the hood as usual.
If that still doesn't work I would suggest you check the liquid level in the hood compressor that's behind the right plastic cover on the side of the trunk liner.
I'm not an expert(at all) but maybe this will help.
good luck and keep us updated.
