I am inexperienced on Forums - how did you manage to repair this?? I have same problem. Thanks.
At the top of this Forum's first page are helpful "Sticky Threads". Click on the last one - "How To / DIY Repairs and Maintenance", scroll down to 3. Convertible Top, click it and read the entire thread before you attempt to do the repair.
There are several ways to do it. I recommend using Rhino Glue and Suck 'N Clamps because my repair is still holding.
Many thanks to Stuart S for saving my bacon with thorough and detailed instructions on repair. Sorry it's taken a while to respond, I used Rhino Glue GEL instead of the regular glue and it worked just fine. Be careful on selection of Suction-Clamps - I bought Blue ones and they were junk - had a dickens of a time obtaining return/refund on eBay. See the pictures attached - the first three (3) are of damaged top - right side and top side. I decided to look on YouTube and found a Mustang convert top repair that closely matched my damaged area and used Rhino Glue with suction-clamps. There are several good vids on Convertible Top Repair you should check out. The last three (3) pics are the repair: 1-Starting on Right Side of rear window ONLY - do this first, 2- Top of window with all six (6) clamps and 3- had to lightly Open the Top as the closed tension too much to permit good clamping. The Rhino glue ran a bit but is easily removed completely with a Razor Scraper for windows. Let each gluing event dry overnight before proceeding to remove clamps. Thanks again Stuart.
