I am considering getting new wheels for my 07 Jag XKcoupe. I currently have the Senta 20inch wheel package. I have noticed onthis forum that others have had difficulty getting the right wheel. Some vendors tell you they will fit and they end up having different backspacing.
I popped a front and rear wheel off my Jag, flipped it overand measured the backspacing. I placed astraight edge on the wheel edge (not the tire) and measure the distance to the mounting surface. I got 6 ¾” on the front and 6 3/8” on the rear. This forum and others have stated the correct backspacing is 46 for the front which I assume is mm? This converts to1.8”. Am I measuring wrong?? What gives??

DenverDDS,
I see that you joined the Forum in November 2012, which makes you a newbie! Since you have questions about wheel fitment, I recommend you take a look at the Wheel and Tire forum: Wheels and Tires - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
I'm not a mechanic, but I am interested in learning as much as I can about my XKR. One thing I learned is that wheel tech is more complicated than it appears at first glance. First of all, I think you mean "offset" instead of "backspacing". There are 3 factors for proper wheel fitment: (1) PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter); (2) Offset; and, (3) Center Bore. See this link for an excellent primer on wheel fitment: What does wheel PCD mean? - Wheel Fitment.eu - PCD, Offset and Center Bore data Click on the PCD, Offset, and Center Bore links on the left side of the page.
Good luck in finding new wheels! There are many wheel vendors, and here are a few who specialize in Jaguar wheels:
1. Coventry Wheels:Jaguar XK Wheels (custom aftermarket) also sold by Discount Tire: Wheel Products - Discount Tire Direct=
2. SB Wheels (OEM)
3. 2007 Jaguar XK Rims, 2007 Jaguar XK Wheels at OriginalWheels.com (OEM)
Hope this helps!
Stuart
