Cruise control malfunction

I purchased a low milage 2012 XKR about a month ago. So far, I'm pretty happy with it.
One problem I have come across is that the cruise control is not working. When the car starts up, I see "Cruise Control Not Available". I scanned the OBD codes, and the only code that comes up is "U0104" (cruise control module communication lost).
Any thoughts on how I might diagnose / repair this?
Anyone know where the Cruise Control Module is located on a 2012 XK(R)?

Also make sure the battery is FULLY charged. Fully. Like, on a 20 amp charger for 24 hours.
What type of Cruise is it? By the symptom it would seem ACC, or Adaptive Cruise Control, and that the forward sensor isn't working or is dirty.
OP, do you have the ACC or Normal Cruise?
Are there TWO rotary controls on the right spoke of the steering wheel, or only one?

You don't have Adaptive if you only have one rotary. You have the "Normal" cruise. No sensors. You'll probably need the module reflashed, or a new module. OR, have you checked all the fuses and such?

Ok. Any idea where the Cruise Control fuse is on a 2012 XK(R)? As I mentioned, I've only had it for a month, and I'm still trying to learn where everything is, and how to work all the accessories.

There is currently no fuse in slot 15 in the engine bay fuse pannel, and the owners manual for my car (2012 XKR) lists that slot as "unused". I'm happy to try putting a fuse in it, but what amperage fuse should I use?

Looking at the Electrical guide, it looks like the regular cruise control (speed control) is done in the ECM. No special module for cruise control. At a glance, it doesn't look like there is one specific fuse but I looked for about 2 minutes. Send me a direct message with you're email address and I'll send you the Electrical Guide

I think it's called the speed control module and it is located under the steering wheel. I think the fuse location is in the owners manual.

Also, the U0104 code has a 6 different failures associated with it, each marked with a -xx suffix. Probably need a better scan tool to narrow it down.

It would also be a good idea to download the relevant manuals and wiring diagrams.

I have ACC on my 2010 XKR and I've had the No Cruise Control Available warning ever since I added a tune to the ECM about 5 years ago. Since I have never used cruise control of any kind, it never bothered me. I figured that it was related to the resetting of the top speed with the tune, no longer being restricted, but it may have just been coincidence. If you find the solution, I'd be interested in trying on mine as well.
