I cut two pieces of foam shelf liner material for mine (I used the tan color to match the interior color). The foam is not thick at all and can be removed & cleaned easily.
Go to Amazon and Ebay and search for "Union Jack Cupholder Liners". They're inexpensive and are available in various diameters. If the Union Jack is not your thing, search for "Checkered Flag Cupholder Liners" or just "Cupholder Liners".
I cut circles out of a sheet of black craft foam. Same stuff I used to make my wireless charging pad. You can get individual sheets for less than $1 in various colors and thicknesses at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Unlike shelf liner, it's smooth and opaque.

I had these spare parts laying around and was surprised that they were a perfect fit. The Jaguar Heritage logo is a wheel center cap and the Growler logo is the old grille badge from my XJ. I didn't glue them in so they'd be easy to remove. I rarely use those cupholders for drinks.
I have extra center caps, so PM me if you need any.

Don't you just love to spend other peoples' money! So do I, but the only way to get perfect OEM cup holders is to follow Dave's advice in Post #5, above, since all XKs are now used cars with scratched cup holders.
If you're frugal like me, you'll do one of the cheap work-arounds mentioned above. What does it matter, since you can't see it when the armrest is closed?

All kidding aside, even spending $80 to buy a new one is silly since all you'd be doing is buying the whole assembly just to replace the crap steel linings that'll just pit and scratch again in no time. Putting a black rubber or other material liner is completely inconspicuous and is what Jaguar should've done to begin with.
