Is this more if a chamber crossover ? I bought but have not installed yet .. https://www.ebay.com/p/Lawson-Industries-66925-Stainless-Steel-Stamped-X-pipe/1740041273
Seems like a copy of the Magnaflow, without the specific shapes that manipulate the airflow. I am pretty sure Magnaflow put a lot of thought and testing into the specific shapes of the chambers.
Ranchero, school me, since I don't know what I'm looking at. Because to my untrained eye it looks like a well thought out and executed job?

I believe what Ranchero was talking about when he said "Muffler Shop" was partially related to the non-Mandrel Bends. Those are power robbing and start at the beginning and are evident all the way through. Anytime you see such bends you can be assured you don't have the right Exhaust Guy, or he doesn't have the right equipment to do your project justice. Nothing personal, it is what it is.
Here are some pics that better illustrate part of what Ranchero was talking about, choked off non-Mandrel Bends are circled in red..... IMHO,those are a full stop situation.
For comparison, note the mandrel bends in the closeup of my Modular Crossover...look close at the bends and notice no choking off of the airflow.
Has anyone actually disected our silencers? Do they not flow from one pipe to the other already providing a crossover of the exhaust flow? Also are silencers actually restrictive? My problem now is after putting in high flows exhaust is extremely raspy and loud over 2500rpm, wondering if an xpipe will fix fox this or I would need a silencers of another type added.

I had rasp with the original X-pipe, I have no rasp at all now and am told it is because of the dual Xs.

Happy Weekend to all,

I am well aware of the diference between crush bends and mandrel bends. The guy who built this has years of experience building race cars and exotics, whatever that may be worth. Before we did this, I discussed using mandrel bends as I have always heard, mostly from exhaust system manufacturers, that crush bends were restrictive, etc. He insisted as I mentioned above, since there are no sharp bends and with the increase in diameter of the piping and high speed of flow, mandrel bends were unnecessary in this application. Of course that doesn't mean it is true.
My intent was to have as free flowing of an exhaust system as possible especially to be mated with the more open intakes. I think I'm going to have the 200 cell cats removed for straight pipes and perhaps explore an H connector closer to the headers and perhaps a couple of Helmholtzs at the rear for cabin noise.
Your car sounds really good on the Sebring videos. I think at the end of the day as long as your fuel economy doesn't tank that the intake and exhaust systems are working well.
I lost 2 mpg when I swapped from the stock box back to my exhaust but I think that's mostly because I drove exhaust, not the car with the new system. I did do a 2nd gear acceleration check leaving the local shopping center where my used book place is and where the local motorheads were hanging out and with the windows down got a very obvious blower whine as the old girl lifted her skirts. I never hear it with the glass up.
This is what's on my XKR, along with the stock rear muffler and 400 cell cats, the one on the left obviously, stock on the right.
The pipe diameter was increased from 55mm OD to 2-1/2" (~63mm) OD, bends are mandel type, done on a CNC bender.
The x-pipe is obviously fabricated from pipe and although it "looks" like a bit of a restriction, our 1/4 mile results confirm it flows enough for 500+ hp so IMHO there's no need for bigger or less restrictive designs.
