Default Go Pro cam

There are a couple things you might want to consider. !st. If u r going to go HD like go pro, u need to see if there is a windshield film is present, such as Clearplex. These tend to cause problems with HD cams. Also any kind of tint or film makes any radar detector or lidar (Laser) also useless. I was with my bf going north on the I-5 approaching John Basilone Rd. He has a Porsche 911 4S cabrio with a film on the windshield and a mounted Go Pro. (First time he was using the Go Pro HD He was in excess of 160mph when his escort laser diffuser/deflector that was mounted in the front of the car picked up aCHP on a bike, on the left shoulder about 1.5 miles in front of us. My Escort 9500ix,windshield mounted with a smartcord live, that was hooked up to my phone with the app, never picked it up. In fact by the time we got back down to speed and came up to the CHP my detector still didnt go off. We had put my detector in his car cause I thought it was broke. I had a film put on the windshield of my Miata, and the detector stopped working. To make a long story longer, We called Escort and they told us any kind of film or protective coating on the windshield of ANY car, will distort any HD cam and will render Lidar deflectors and KA band and K band detectors uselss. I wont make this mistake with my '13 xkr!!

I have a G1W Dashcam on my 13' Altima and when I get my 2009 xkr I will put another on it. It has only been out for around 4 months now its really new and it has Very very good quality!! I don't think there would be any problem putting one on a Jag at all.

My unlce is leaving me his jag next week and I will test it on it and upload videos if you want. If goto YouTube and type in G1W Dashcam and you should see reviews and videos of its amazing quality and amazing wide angle! It's it really cheap considering the price and It is a much better choice for a Dashcam then a Gopro is because this is meant to be a car Dashcam.

$52 including shipping. But beware of fakes! Buy it from Estore009 off eBay if you are buying one!!!!
I'm actually in my car right now looking at mine. And I just orderd my dad one for his car, after he saw the quality and how wide of an angle it records he immediately made me order him one!
There is also forums for dashcams with reviews on there as well if your interested.

If you have any questions let me know, I'll be glad to help.

I use E-PRANCE New Mini 0801. Really small & unobtrusive. Came with plenty of cable so I could route it round the windscreen tucked in nicely. Have it plugged into the socket in the glove compartment. Great quality from it too.

What sorts of power draw does it have? Are these sorts of dash cams bad for the battery or is the impact negligible?

Default negligeble power draw

Any dash cam draws close to zero on amperage. if it does cause a problem with the battery it is cause the battery needs replacement. Left long enough a bad battery will destroy an alternator, by requiring too much of above constant charge. If you want to verify amps and volts u can hook up a Fluke ammeter to the dash cam. Incidentally if the cam is going to interfere with the battery to the extent of too much draw, the engine wont turn over etc, cause the battery is so run down

If you connect it to an ignition-switched 12V source (i.e. one that's only live when the car's running), it won't drain the battery at all. I believe most have internal batteries, and an auto-off feature that will shut them down when the power is off and/or the car isn't moving. Snooper has one that has its own accelerometers and switches on if the car moves, e.g. someone runs into it while it's parked.

Mine turns on Once my car turns on and shuts off once I turn off the car, so it does not really waist any power at all.. It records nonstop and when it's full it deletes the oldest video in the memory card which on a 32gb is about a 3 day old video. Also if an incident or something interesting occurs you can push the Lock button and it won't be able to delete that video even if it is the first video to delete it will not unless you plug it into the computer.
Only $52 on Ebay with free shipping. When my uncle lets me borrow one of his jags with in the next few days for a week or so I can show you videos of it if you would like? He will probably let me borrow his XKR Convertible.

You must be new to Jaguar. Even brand new batteries cause problems in these cars if you don't keep them on a battery tender!

If I had a dash cam, I'd possibly want it on all the time to catch any vandals in the act! But I suppose wiring it up so that it only comes on when the car is on makes more sense for most people.

I also have a battery tendr on mine. Got one on our boat and motor cycle. But reality states that a dash cam shouldnt cause problems. If it does then I can fix it or my boyfriend can. I m a big girl. I can handle the problems. I bought my car from my dad, with less than 2000 miles on it. 2013 xkr ragtop for $65,000. My boyfriend told me to buy a Boxster. He has a 911 4S cabrio

Clearly you have good taste in cars! Would you happen to have a pic of your dash cam setup? These cams all look a bit bulky so I'm not sure where it would go and not impede vision. I have yet to see a clean dash cam setup on our cars...
