Dash clips spring clips possible substitute

Nothing earth shaking here but when I removed the wood trim above my steering wheel to quiet the aspirator fan it would not clip on tight upon replacing. Others have obviously removed this on my car before and the plastic that receives the clip is getting a little worn. Even new Jag clips weren't holding without a little motion when I pushed on trim piece. I had these silver-colored GM clips (I know...oh the horror!) and they turned out to be just the ticket. Everything is nice and tight and no squeaks or noises associated with any kind of movement. Although I have not tried to remove them I think the steel might be a bit thinner and seems to me that it might...might..remove a little easier than the old but who knows. I normally would keep everything as original but original just wasn't working well in this case.
Anyway, if you are in a pinch these might do. They were available on Amazon at time of this post. At $1.50 each U.S. they may be more expensive than the Jag ones! I have no interest or affiliation with the clip company or Amazon!
