Default Dead then alive

Drove my car today, made a couple of stops. Got back in the car after third stop and everything was dead. Screen was black, no click when I tried to start, no lights on the interior, no nothing. I could get the headlights to come on but absolutely nothing else. I inserted the fob into the slot in the console but made no difference. I stepped away from the car for a few minutes to make a phone call, come back and everything was back to normal. Drove it and made several more stops without issue. Seems as though the key fob wasn't connecting with the car. An fyi...I installed a new battery 2 weeks ago along with a battery tender connection and had it connected last night. I've driven it almost every day since the new battery with no hints of any issues. Any thoughts or ideas? I just changed the key fob battery as a precaution.

Intermittent power can be caused by a bad ground or loose battery cables. I suspect that whoever replaced your battery didn't adequately tighten the battery cables. Make sure that those cables are tight.

This sounds familiar to me, when it was diagnosed as the alternator and the ground cable which has the computer on it.

It would be worth checking if this TSB has been actioned.

The OP has 2007 4.2L, which doesn't have the Battery Monitoring System with the module in the negative battery cable. That feature began with the 5.0L models from 2010 to 2015.
