DIY supercharger oil change

Sorry Don it was late last nite . intervals are every 50k miles . I cant remember off hand how much old oil i pulled out and put in. but read the start of this thread it should be on there

I changed my SC oil using George05 method... It was a PITA but 3.5 hrs later it was done.... The oil was a little yellow/brown compared to the new oil which was close to clear. But here is were it got a little odd for me, I only had about 150ml in the SC, but was able to put back in close to 210ml... Where did my SC oil go? Or was the factory fill low?

I used a T handle 3/16” cut down to where I had about 3/8” of the allen left to use....

Baked on to the metal in the SC.
10 years of baking at 204 degrees after you turn the engine off.

Well done . Yes a right PITA of a job to do with that wiring harness in the way , but bet you feel better knowing it is all done now . Mine was the same took out less than i put in Q&C is right again . Some of it must get evaporated or burnt up over the years . my car felt smoother with the new oil in much like the transmission oil

Wow, 3.5 hours just to change the oil? Has anyone timed how long it takes to remove the supercharger entirely? What part of Texas do you claim? I'm in the San Antonio area.

I don't mean to be "that guy", but couldn't a person merely drill a hole in the FRONT of the SC and tap it for a plug? It'd take about twenty minutes, start to finish.

True. Why did Jaguar not leave it were it was on the 4.2l cars when they made the 5l ones

well it’s one of those things that when your doing it the first time and only one other guy has done it before you that you know of, you just take it slow so you don’t mess something up... Knowing what I’m doing now I could probably cut that time down considerably... I’m in Rockwall/Heath TX a community that is 25 minutes east of Dallas, by Lake Ray Hubbard...

They did leave it there, but the SC is backwards on the 4.2, that's where the intake is.
Right? Least that's what I think.

Lead the way... I know that this is something that everyone should probably be doing because my oil was almost half gone...

I will take a good look at it next time I have the bonnet opened up. I'll do some preliminary figuring now, finding low spots and such.
Hey, ya never know, it may be super easy. Or super not-possible.

Main problem is that wiring harness in the way . the vacum tube just pulls out

Yeah mine to same as you i put more in than i took out. just shows you we should all check if possible
