Do you wear a particular watch when driving your XK?

I understand completely the connection between a fine piece of machinery in the garage and a fine piece of miniature machinery on the wrist. That's why I like good mechanical watches (the brands have already been mentioned) - especially beautiful examples ( just as Jaguars are beautiful; there are other good automobiles that are not beautiful, and they do not interest me for that reason). And just as the Jaguar is an English car, my current favourite on the wrist is also English, a Christopher Ward Pro C60 (but made in Switzerland). My XK is British Racing Green and by chance or subconscious design, the bezel on the watch is also the same colour.

I wear the same watch whatever I'm driving, a Breitling Navitimer. I used to think it was huge when I first bought it 15 years ago, but today I see many people wearing large watches, especially girls/women wearing really big watches that make my Navitimer look small.
(It ruines the the old joke about pilots wearing big watches because they have little *******.)

44mm+ watches are falling out of fashion. You don't see the big brands producing nearly as many new models as they were. 44mm should be reserved only for particular use case watches... 38-42 is the general standard for modern men's watches.

When I made 25 years in my company I got a Rolex which I wore for 16 more years before I retired. When I bought my Ferrari I purchased and wore a Ferrari inscribed Tag H. which I wore during our meets and drives. Now I don't uses a watch but maybe I'll look for a Jaguar one for those driving days and events. By the way I had the Rolex cleaned at 10 years and the cost were out of sight considering how the state quality. I won't do that again as it was like 3 or 4 dealer oil changes. lol

Yep you are right on as the service for cleaning and adjustments done at our Rolex certified jeweler cost me $500. So the watch I had before I got this one was a Seiko which was still working after 20 years when I put it away.

Out of my 5-6 watches, this is my favorite "go to". I purchased it in 1971 (Honey moon purchase) in a shop (Compass Rose) on St Thomas, VI. The band, I purchased in a Pawn shop in Old Town Santa FE, NM in the mid 90s. The band ornaments are custom made signed Navajo pieces. This Seiko, still keeps excellent time and has been cleaned once.
It looks nice too while on my vintage Vespa.
Happy Motoring...

I wear my old Dateadjust Rolex everyday. Had this watch since Vietnam days. I am left handed so I wear it on my right wrist. Watch is almost 50 year old and keeps on ticking with cleaning ($$) every decade or so.
Back in the 80s Gold Rolex Presidents were highly valued. My father had one, wearing it on his left wrist. He drove his big Mercedes from Scottsdale to see me in Beverly Hills one fine day. Gold watch clearly visible to other drivers, one of which followed him off I-10 to my home. Dad was robbed at gun point of the watch in front of my home.
