My computer recognizes mine. I asked the company that makes them and the engineer said it will work with an 06RR so I'm still not sure what my issue is right now. I'm trying to do it legit and pay for logix but once I get past the first logix login it then ask me for my locksmith username and password. Even the Logic people helping me don't seem to know what to say about it. I'll get it figured out but it's far more difficult then it should be. I thought ISTA for the BMWs was difficult to get going but this is crap.

Ok boys got it to work I reinstalled the JLR SDD software that came with the dongle and once that was all done I plugged back in the dongle and then BAM it was working and I was in the menu. Everything is groovy now! I also forgot to add that I ran the patch that came with it and used the login credentials as well that was in the notepad. My main thing was to enable the AUX connection but was wondering what other options are there for us to take a look at besides troubleshooting?

I can't play anymore with it since the XKR went to the body shop to get the side rocker panel repaired as it was damaged during shipping. So once I get it back later this week I will get deeper into it.

Thanks guys!

I know you said you got the same dongle as mine but was it from the same company on Amazon? I never could get the cds to run on my computer. Are you using Windows 10?

Yes it was but what I can do for you is extract the cd's info and I will upload it to a cloud drive so you can download everything.

Ok I managed to upload everything for you into the Google Drive. Here is the link:JLL Software Download for J2534

Please follow these steps that worked for me.

1. First uninstall everything you have that is associated with the JLR SDD.
2. Then install the J2534 Device Setup V.4.0 which will install the associated drivers for the Dongle.
3. Once that is complete install the JLR SDD software.
4. Then once that is complete install the patch and use the associated username/password in the text file.
5. You will then need to enter a address, etc for everything but just select any country and put independent operator and any address and then you will get pass that screen.
6. That should be it and you should be good to go!

I'm in the program but it's not picking up my dongle. My computer sees it because I see "vci" connected at the bottom right. I'm going to have to go back and make sure the driver is properly installed. It looks like it is based on my device manager.

Tony, do you know if the comm port for the dongle has to be set to a certain one? I know in ITSA for BMW it has to be set for 4.(I think it's 4, maybe 5)

I'm having problems with the install. I put the DA J2354 setup in. Then I go to put the vcredist_86 in and it does it. But when I start the setup.exe it tells me that the vcredist_86 isn't there. It says "the package could not be found." But I can see it in my computer.

Try copying the entire software content into a desktop folder?

Oh, also..... do you have "Hide Extensions for Known File Types" enabled in Windows Explorer (file manager)? THAT option should be a big NO!!!!!

You don't need to install the vcredist_86 file. Just the DA J2534 Device Setup file.

Argh, it's still not reading it. Are you using a Windows 7 computer? I have this on a Window 10 but the guy who sold me the dongle said that was ok.
