I caught the review late last night and thought it was generally well done. You have to admit that control of the infotainment system is dated compared to what is now available and not as user friendly as one would like. I don't recall him mentioning adaptive cruise control or some of the other (especially for the time) advanced capabilities the car has.
As I recently acquired my XKR, I was happy to hear him go to town on how to 'unlock' the passenger door. When the seller explained it to me as I was looking over the car prior to purchase - it went in one ear and out the other - I think I was paying attention to the beautiful exhaust note. For the last two weeks I've been leaning over and pulling the passenger side door latch.
Beautiful car, but the back seats are a puzzle - 3 year old might be comfortable on a booster seat, but I can't imagine trying to put an infant car seat back there. Similar (but smaller) than the rear seats in my extended cab Chevy Colorado.
The infotainment is dated because it's from 2007, if you compare it to any other 2007 vehicle, it's among the best. The unlocking system took me about 4 seconds to figure out. It's different, but not very complicated. And the back seats, i suspect was done for insurance purposes, my front seats touch my back seats.

No, that's a myth that has survived for decades. Insurance rates are determined by actuaries who analyze mountains of historical data compiled by insurance companies to project expected losses. And the back seats are useable for small children, as several Forum members have confirmed.
P.S. Want a good laugh? Click on the link that's in Post #71 and note the name of the author who dispels that myth. Ironic, isn't it? But he got that one right!

i like doug's reviews because they do make me notice things (quirks!) that i wouldn't have thought twice about. his reviews, as in this one, now have me keen to manufacturers burying functions in a touchscreen that i may want to use often. his points system is as internally consistent as i've ever seen. i actually pause his videos on the spreadsheets worth of data he occasionally puts up, think it over, and have to mostly agree. i definitely do not like his voice though. there's something grating about it.
of note, if instead of using the doug score as your metric you choose the doug's-face-when-he-drives-the-car indicator, you'll find that the best car in the world is jaguar's XE project 8!

The guy is an entertainer more than anything. Like Jeremy Clarkson on the UK's Top Gear or that new show he had on Amazon. It;s just entertainment with cars as the theme. I can't imagine choosing a car because either of these two guys says anything about it. But on that basis, I quite enjoy Doug's videos, but I can't stand Clarkson. Good thing we aren't all the same!
I personally enjoy Doug's reviews and find them pretty entertaining. I wouldn't base buying decisions on them but I don't think that's what they are aimed at.
Surprised to see the back seat not getting much love here though, I had low expectations for the practicality of mine in my convertible, but my kids are in the sweet spot post child/booster seat and prior to being too tall to fit. Pic below of me and Mrs 3Cylndr in the front with the kids happy in the back seat. This was a rare trip with the hood up due to poor weather but I was still able to keep my normal driving position (I'm 5 11 for reference). Wont replace the SUV as a family hauler but it does open up some fun options.

His videos try to fulfil two things:
A tour of the car's features for prosective buyers that haven't seen one in person.
Appeal to an audience that likes watching his personality. They'd watchim review paint drying.
I'm 6' 2" and have been in the backseat of my XK just to try.
I find the fit easier than my 944.
