Default The dreaded Airbag light has come back on

Hi All
XK x150 2007 4.2 using an Icarsoft v2 scanner. I had an airbag warning light about 3 months ago i determined it was a bad clock spring via the codes and then after removal and testing the continuity of the unit. So i went ahead and purchased a used one on ebay and fitted it and the problem was resolved for nearly three months until last week when the airbag light came back on with the same errors as before followed by a cruise control failure.

So i decided to bite the bullet and purchase a brand new clock spring which I fitted problem was solved for all of one day. But now I am now getting a different error code B0001-11 Driver Frontal Stage 1 Deployment Control -Circuit Short to Ground) Has anybody come across this error before and if so what was the solution.

I have double checked all the connections including the ground and they all look good.

Hi. Did you use a multi meter? Did you disconnect the RCM before removing the airbag (not necessary to do so just wondering what you did while replacing the clock spring.)

You have either short to ground, short to power, resistance too low or resistance too high. We'd need the 6th and 7th DTC digit to determine which it is.

Less likely is an RCM failure which shouldn't happen if you left it alone.

No I did not disconnect the RCM
Yes I used a multimeter to check continuity on the old clock spring when it was out of the car.
I thought the 11 at the end of B0001-11 was the 6th and 7th DTC code which is a short to ground or is there more?

Thanks

Adrian

Sorry yes, you're correct. What the hell? How'd I miss that? Short to ground then. Let me dig some more

does the horn work? wheel switches, paddle shifters? I know you said Cruise doesn't work. Actually none of them should work as they all have the same ground return point. It's located in the instrument cluster.

Thanks Sean, it looks like i have a short to ground just on the airbag i have checked the ground wire that is connects directly to the airbag in the steering wheel and it looks good everything else works e.g horn cruise control etc. do you have a wiring diagram for a 2007 as the link in the sticky section doesn't seem to be working.
