Default DS Window and top balky after battery run down

I have the JagWrangler one touch setup installed. I was out of town for a while and there was a power outage, so the CTek was down for enough time for the battery to run down. I was able to get it jumped and charged, and it has been back on the CTek for 10 days. The issue: the convertible top operation (going down and up) is bulky. When opening, top comes back from the windshield about 6 inches and sits there for about 45 seconds, then the process completes. When closing, the windows go down, the cover opens and then sits open with a motor sound for about 25 seconds. The process then completes, the back windows go up, the passenger window goes up, but the driver side window will not. I have looked through the threads and tried the window reset, but I wonder if I am doing it wrong? Advance thank you for all feedback.

Your battery is probably toast, regardless of what any CTEK says. Have it load tested and see what condition it is in. It SHOULD have 12.6 volts in the morning while NOT on a CTEK, but just sitting there all by its onesies overnight.

Thx Cee Jay, if that is the case, that would be a bit of a drag, seeing as I replace the battery about 18 months ago. But, I probably have not done it any favors by only driving a car every 3 to 6 weeks or so.

Current CTek

Hey, it happens, especially if you didn't charge the new one before it was installed. New batteries are NEVER fully charged as they sit around for months before they get sold.

The JLR dealer up in St Louis installed it, you think they would know better. Grrrrr. Getting ready to sell, I'll have it tested and buy a new one for the buyer. Any idea on what (if anything) I need to do to get the windows back in order post-new battery, or will they reset automatically? Thanks again

Do a few more window resets- both up and down positions. Sometimes they do not take immediately.

What window reset method works best for you? There seems to be a lot of conflicting information out there. Thank you.

I usually use this: -Lower both windows and keep holding the buttons for 5 seconds, then raise both windows and keep holding the buttons for 5 seconds. Repeat at least 3 times.

If you have the remote kit installed, you should always do the first full cycle after the resets with the interior console button before using the remote.

Other methods can also work as long as they do both windows up and windows down resets. Note the resets are necessary after a battery disconnect or battery low condition even on cars with the remote kit.

Not to say by any means Steve is wrong, because he isn't, but I've had better luck holding the window switches down until windows are down, then release and hold DOWN again for five seconds. Same as up... release when up, then hold AGAIN for five seconds.
Both work, but I've found mine to react faster to the release/repeat method.
