Picked up a 2010 XKR yesterday. It was only supposed to be a test drive ahead of possibly buying one this summer, but i couldn't leave it behind. Getting most things figured out, but i did have a spare panel in the trunk that doesn't seem to go anywhere. Nothing seems to be missing anywhere in the car and it doesn't fit anywhere that i can find. Anyone know where this goes or did i just end up with a random spare part from something else.
That's the divider between the coupe glass and the boot, it's backwards as it lays. The straight part goes forward towards the seat, and the rounded part attaches to the hatch. I don't know specifically HOW it does this as I own a Convertible.
Got it, i see how it goes in, but i can't get it to stay in place, either something is worn out after 8 years or i'm doing something wrong, don't really need it either way. Thanks.
You might have to screw in the "bolt" parts a bit to make them shorter, then when you move the lever the rubber boot parts spread out to hold it in place.
Mine were loose, i.e. too long, and wouldn't spread the rubber out wide enough to grip the holes properly.
It's kind of hard to explain, I hope that might make sense?
Put the levers in the open position, screw the rubber parts back in. Then when you move the lever to to closed position, you'll see the rubber kind of "inflate"
