Default Dyno woes - I'll try to keep this simple.

Good to be here first off, I appreciate your input on this one - and Hopefully we can end up with one fast XKR -

I've 2012 - 7.5% reduction pulley, Larini rear box, got a Powergate tune from england which seems good, however - There is nobody that really has a clue about tuning these in N.Ireland, and most of the dyno guys here just want to do power runs on civics and Audis. - I managed to find a guy that has a Maha Dyno and a great setup / (tunes rally cars here and stand-alone systems) He was happy to do some power runs.

I read here that it might not work well on a dyno due to the dsc and to remove fuse 20 (40amp) to bypass the system - he ran the car avoiding kick down in 5th gear and each time the engine would top out at 5800rpm holding itself back.... the result

457.3hp at 5410rpm at the engine
378.4 WHP
78.9 Losses
452.15 LB/FT Torque

I have a printout I'll attach below -

So the first question is - is the car limiting itself at this RPM and should be maxing out higher?

That will do for today!

Thanks for your time.

Could it be that the testing was done in 5th gear and was hitting the speed limiter? marked 160mph on the sheet? Should pulls be done in 4th perhaps?

Thanks

I know the MUSTANG brand dynomometers consistently read lower than other ones by about 10%.

Thanks for pitching in, this one is a MAHA Dyno - I was there for the two cars that ran before me, a CRX and a RX7 and their owners were happy with their numbers. (all subjective I'm sure) -

I'd appreciate it if you could help me with these two questions -

1. Should the pull be done in 4th or 5th (worried it's maxing the speed limiter in 5th at 160mph)
2. What's the redline in a 5.0 XKR

Any help here is much appreciated!
