Default Electric aerial Stupidity

I stupidly managed to catch the aerial mast on the garage door Yesterday and bend it I managed to carefully bend it back into shape but it now doesn't retract due to the kink in the bottom.
Just wondering what the options are, can the assembly be removed and the mast section replaced or will it be a new unit? I've seen a couple of second hand items on ebay for about £200 but wondered if the earlier X100 aerial is the same as they are considerably cheaper. I know some owners don't like the electric aerial but it's never bothered me but if it's possible to delete it I might look at that option, presumably there is still a grommet in the rear quarter once complete.
Many Thanks Ian

Get one of the stubby rubber ones that doesn't retract if you use the radio part. Also, in the X100 forum, Reverend Sam showed how to wire an internal aerial to hide the external. There are hole plugs available. You may want to search as there are a couple threads on this already. Your answers may be there.

Mine broke. There's a repair kit which includes new antenna and narrow strip of ribbed plastic which connects to motor. Motor pushes or pulls the plastic to move the antenna up or down. f you're lucky, it's a easy cheap repair.

The aerial assembly (JLM21920) is a terrifying cost but the replacement antenna from JLR is available as P/N C2P16999. In the UK it retails at 78.50 including VAT.

Thanks for that, I've got a new mast assembly and will have a go at fitting it later in the week. Fingers Crossed.
