Elite RR exhaust noise
#21
Received and fitted mine yesterday. Sounds great. I wouldn't have described the volume as "brutal" personally but my car doesn't have the upgraded pulley and remap. The tone of the sound is excellent though, very purposeful. It is louder when on a charge but at normal driving it's still possible to be civilised. Exactly what I was looking for.
Looks the part too, I'll upload some photos later.

No center boxes at all, the Spires middle pipes only have a X-pipe just behind the transmission and that's it, just straight pipes to the back box. I was worried it might be too loud like that but so far it seems fine, in as much as it's still possible to stay fairly quiet when I want to but there's plenty of noise available when hoofing it
Thanks for the link, I won't make that one though, heading to the 'ring at the end of September

Thanks guys, very pleased with it
I'd have thought if it was just down to the center section then mine would probably be louder as I have no center silencers at all. I can only assume that your pulley and ECU map make it louder (more boost so bigger bangs in the cylinders) and perhaps the pipe on the Elite center section is wider; the pipe on my back section is wider than that on my Spires middle.
I actually find it much louder with the windows up, unless I'm driving in between hard walls etc. The snarl on cold start in my garage is the exact opposite of tame

Did it today, at idle it's around the 74 db and with a quick bust of throttle it reached 128 db, brutal high pitch . In Ireland you can't pass 90 db for the car test. They don't really have an issue but some boy racers with sports back boxes are asked to remove them. The examiner really didn't bat an eyelid about the noise. At the end of the test he commented on how lovely it sounded. Sounded lovely in the confined space of the test center.
