Thumbs down Engine Covers

Please tell me someone is manufacturing a better looking engine cover than what Jag provides. The XK is beautiful from every angle in and out except when you open the hood...

Are you talking about the hoodliner?

If so, there's a guy on site who makes beauties c/w the Leaper imprinted onto it as a direct replacement......I think he does them to suit the XK range!

Here's a pic of the new XKRS engine cover and another of an older XKR, does the current car's engine look like that with the cover removed?

totally agree with what you say about the lack of "pop" on the 2007+ XKR's versus the previous MY's. Maybe XKRacer has some ideas on beefing up the look on the I/C's and engine presentation.

You can always paint it to give it some color. I've painted my engine covers and intake manifold on my previous Vette and I think Moe painted his engine covers on his previous Jag.

This was my painted engine covers and intake manifold on my C5.

Also like Jim said...you can also painted your hood liner. I know that was also very popular with the corvette guys but I didn't go that far.

BTW....checking my engine cover...at least the '10+ has the letters J-A-G-U-A-R painted. The '07-'09 is one plastic piece in black. Maybe some aftermarket company can come out with something sweet looking...maybe even carbon fiber. My SL came with the CF engine covers and I think they look good.

Here's the '07-'09 cover:

Hmmm...how about chrome? Just kidding!!!

Will high heat silver or other colors work on the plastic? This might be a fun thing to do...come up with a color scheme to dress that cover up!

Thanks guys. What do the newer cars look like with the cover removed? I understand the cover is there for some minor noise and heat reduction but that's about it

Thanks

At least in the X type you can see the intake.

Can someone/has anyone removed the 07+ XK plastic cover to see what's underneath and maybe shoot a quick pic?

Thnx

If some vendor can make vinyl letters for the "Supercharger" or "Jaguar" and other vinyl pieces for the engine cover....I think it would freshen up the engine.

Yes it did.....the cover that came with is on post 8. Funny thing is I've never removed the engine cover to see what's underneath until today when I took those pics for ya.

I'm sure all X150s come with engine covers.
