You will now get an inundation of ten thousand people giving you 9,982 different versions of what "Right Oil" means.
There are many, many threads on the correct oil to use. None of them coincide.

I would have thought that 10 k people would give at least 10.5K answers as many would change their mind at least once during the discussion..

Only a masochist enjoys finding ways to make his own life difficult and painful. The rest of us just follow the advice in the Owner's Handbook.

Welcome to the forum powxxl,

Please post an intro in the new members section when you can.

I'd stick with an oil that conforms to the original spec.

Since the first Ford rolled off the assembly line, manufacturers have 'recommended' a certain oil for their own cars, and by some miracle, it was always THEIR oil.
In the past 100+ years, it's 100% assured that not every owner has used ONLY the recommended oil it their cars. Oil is oil, right? Mostly.........
A GOOD oil with the proper viscosity will work. Some will say "WAIT!!! But... DIRECT INJECTION!!!" So, does EVERY engine built by EVERY manufacturer that has Direct Injection use the Exact Same Oil?
Nah.

After some research, I answered my own question:
As a note to x150 users with 4.2L engine, who might stumble over this in the future,
stay with Fords 913 spec.
It likes a bit of extra ZDDP in their oil, >1000 ppm Zn, for their wet cam chain wear test they added to the regular A5/B5 tests; and increased the min TBN from the A5/B5 value of 8 to the Ford value of 10.

Ford 913 spec (WSS M2C-913-(b/c/d))
is common in EU & AUS.
US spec 929 or 946, since it seems more difficult selling a high zinc SL oil in a mostly SN & GF-5 market.

IMHO, it's probably more important to make sure the engine has the correct amount/level of oil in it.

Do what most do on this forum, put in any old crap that is on sale preferably from Walmart, eBay or Alibaba and then start new threads on why their car engine is broken and how poor Jaguar quality is.
