Extended warranty information request

Hi Lads, I hope you are all doing great (how can’t you with such beautiful cars in your garage).
The reason I’m contacting you is because my car already has 11 years and I’ve been looking for a newer car but I guess I’ll keep it until Jaguar replace the xk with another GT.
So I’m willing to pay for a good warranty to get properly covered with future repairs. The car has 79k miles and it’s been problem free, but you know…just in case.
I called carshield and the offered me their top warranty for used cars and was about 240 per month (with repairs in the official Jaguar dealer). It seems cheap to me, and was thinking about a bumper to bumper. Is it possible to get a B2B for a 2012 car?
What warranty company would you recommend?
thanks!

You can get any warranty you want, as long as you pay. A much better option for 90% of all owners is to be your OWN warranty company..... put that $240 per month into a dedicated banking account and use it IF you need it. If you DON'T need it, then it'll end up as your own money back into your pocket.
I'd wager that you'd end up with it all back to you at the end.

Thank you lads. I did that when I bought the car, I separated 5000 and so far I haven’t put any money in the car until this year that I send it to an independent Jaguar shop in Houston, went through all the maintenance and spend around 2000. I was just thinking about the future.
But I think you are right. Doug Demuro was promoting the bumper to bumper warranty that I almost believed it.
Thankfully I have you guys!

Yes these service contracts are not all alike, much fine print to read, most written and rewritten and priced in favor of the insurance company backing them. There are good, full coverage, like new car policies in the market but you'll pay appropriately for them. I've only had 2, at the time about the best that could be had 15 years ago and about 5 grand apiece. The first I never used and insisted upon a full refund which I did receive, the other I did use occasionally and paid for a bit more that what I paid BUT they haggled over every claim and also took a bit pressure to get them to comply. I'd likely have done it again, just for the piece of mind. However, a lot depends on the reliability of the vehicle. My 2008 XKR has never had a need for anything other than perhaps failed bushings (which were replaced twice under the original warranty and replaced with urethane after the third go round. The park brake actuator's gone off, but that's not an awfully expensive fix. In the end a service contract for this one would've been a waste. I did consider them for the New Range Rover and Disco 4, but the quotes were over $11 and $13 grand for just a couple years coverage. For the 2015 perhaps it would have been worth it as I've certainly exceeded that in repair costs, even with DIY (if all at main dealer likely double the price of the contract) but then again how much would they have pushed back?
