A typical cause of oversteer might be a loss of traction on the rear with resultant sideways slip that points the car toward the center of the turn/circle.
A reduction of frontmost mass would not seem to correct that situation.
Reduced overall mass: lighter weight, reduced stopping distance, improved fuel economy, faster acceleration. That's good enough for me.

I understand "oversteer" to be where the car responds with a tighter circle or smaller turning radius than the driver input intends.
A typical cause of oversteer might be a loss of traction on the rear with resultant sideways slip that points the car toward the center of the turn/circle.
A reduction of frontmost mass would not seem to correct that situation.

You invested a lot of time speculating that the aluminum F-Type subframe would bolt onto your XK. You took measurements, made a sketch and shared.
So, maybe you thought it unkind of me to question your comment about front-end weight reduction affecting "oversteer".
If so, I apologize. No harm meant.
However, inquiring minds and readers of your thread want to know: would you be so kind as to explain your definition of "oversteer" and how the proposed frontmost weight reduction would affect vehicle dynamics, specifically oversteer?
PS: I do agree that an overall/general weight reduction is a good thing.

I'm in need of a replacement subframe (due to heavy corrosion), and if the f type subframe is a straight swap with no alteration needed (i.e all control arms fitting at the right spots) it might well be the path I will follow.
