Alright - life is going south quick with the Jaguar. I still have the issue with firm ride but now my touch screen died. It works when I download the CCF as it displays SWDL on screen. Big and bright as ever. I also updated the software again using a file I have on a thumb drive. No joy. Next, I took another XK screen I know was working a few days before and it too is blank but also displays SWDL when making changes to CCF (Adding AUX input).
But when complete, Jaguar appear on the screen. Start the car and Jaguar stays on the screen. Shut it down and lock it, screen goes black, then doesn't come on. Fuse is good obviously as is power and ground and MOST. Next to check will be GVIF?

Sitting on a power supply with 13.35 volts - thought I'd add that before the Battery guys come forth:-)

Soft ware down load - but I thought you’d fitted the “Tesla style” screen??? Or is my mind gone off….

No, no Tesla screen was fitted and works fine. Then went and fitted a 7" aftermarket designed for an XF (same software as the XK Tesla style but fits in the OEM space) but the buttons underneath didn't work.

Now I'm giving Cambo's CarPlay system go. So I reinstalled the old OEM screen. Worked fine for a few days then stopped, I think after using SDD, I'm not sure exactly, however I wasn't doing anything in regard to the screen.

Does anyone know where SDD stores the part number for the screen? I think I'm going to have to change it to an 07 part number and go thru the install a new screen process? I dunno. Going to check GVIF voltage first.

OK still no joy but this is what I'm seeing.

Here's the error code

Then I ran a download (this is for the 09 XK). Result - nothing. Now since this screen was working fine a few days ago and I have another 07 screen with the OEM 07 programming and it too is black, I don't believe it's the screen itself

Then I tried running the update, even though I didn't expect it to work since the software is from an 09 renamed.
Any ideas? Actually I think it happened when I added Aux Input but not certain. It completed and I ended the session. Next day, this mess. I guess I can try removing Aux input.

It’s always best to revert to the last known good state and then work forward. In this case if adding AUX was the only change then try undoing that and see what happens. Perhaps something to do with the ICM?

Thanks jahummer. You jogged my memory.
The ICM wasn't the issue but I recall I did my back up camera retrofit/ iPod upgrade shortly after you in 2018. I'd also previously upgraded my audio from base to premium. As I was struggling with renaming the ICM files post surgery, I flashed the ACM and the screen went dark. I thought I'd bricked it. I don't even recall why I flashed it. To resolve I went in and undid the premium stereo settings back to base and then reset them to premium and the screen returned to normal.

Today, I removed Aux in - no change but essentially reverted the last working session. Then I recalled the issue I had previously had as described above, so I replicated what I'd done back in 2018 with CCF. I changed audio from premium to base, then uploaded CCF again and added premium back in and the screen returned.

Problem gone. Don't know why it happened. Certainly adding Aux In should have done nothing. I'll add that in later today and see if problem returns. Sorry folks. I know this won't help anyone as my issue is unique to an audio upgrade apparently.

So this's what mine does now. Any time the screen's activated, opening doors, ignition, etc, the back light flashes 4 times then stays off. The screen's still active, I can see everything, but the touch function's non-functional and unfortunately, the climate's always on, can only adjust temp and fan speed. All hard buttons, sound and iPod dock work fine. I've taken it all apart and reassembled, no change. I've run SDD, no DTCs, done module updates and flashes, done a CCF edit, etc. Backlight comes on during SDD sessions, but not touch, just SWDL...

Once the backlight and touch function came on briefly whilst doing a program and I was able to get to the climate screen, but no fast enough to turn it off.

A breakers near me may have 2 XF screens to try.

My screen is part number 6w83-10e889-aj which seems quite difficult to locate.

That one ends in AH.. there's many compatible variations, I don't recall what the last 2 letters mean exactly as I've seen labels with software dates all over the place regardless of those last 2 letters.

This one lists AH and AJ - not sure if that is the same screen re-part numbered for different models - some posters say they use XF displays:

Good news and bad news...

Picked up a replacement screen from a breakers down the street. Different part number 6w83-10e889-aj is what I had fitted in mine, new one's 9x23-10e889-AA with a date of 2009. Splash screen options offer B&W and the new screen's missing 1 FAKRA input, fortunately the rear camera still works.

So new screen powers up without hesitation and stays on, touch functions work, so definitely an issue with the previous screen which confirms it always had an issue since I purchased it from Pacific Motors for $600 and I'd only managed to limp it along.

The bad news, climate functions do not work other than the auto button on the touchscreen, "off" and fan speed controls are greyed out so sadly climate is still stuck on "on". It's been so long since I've reprogrammed these screens, I can't recall what I need to do next to make this work or if it will work...

I checked the one fitted to mine at the factory and it was AH so AJ was the one I needed as I had replaced the original in order to have the OEM backup camera and iPhone dock.

climate functions won't work as the new touchscreen unit that you have is for a newer XF and they used different climate modules. I tried PMing you but your inbox is full:-)

Right, so that means reflashing the software? I think that’s why I originally upgraded with a newer X150 assembly last time. Sean I believe you’ve done this a few times now?

And all's well..Many thanks to Sean for his assistance, 2009 X150 software easily flashed to the XF screen! The previously fitted 2009 X150 screen definitely had a hardware issue as described by other members so it's not always the battery...

Great - what software did you use for the flash?

Nice to know the XF screens will work.

Just got a 6WW83-10E889-AJ screen out of the states. Looks in good shape - would like to power it up but don't know the connections - there is one plug with two hefty connections in there.
