Default Firefox on PC and Jag forums

I know it's not the best place for this post, but nobody will see in anywhere else.
Literally half the attempts I make at opening a thread on this forum, on PC, using Firefox it hangs. Repeatedly. Yes, I disabled all add-on but it still does it.
Anyone else?

NO, it isn't and YES, I will.

The appropriate place is Jaguar Forums Feedback & Suggestion Centre forum. If the thread attracts several replies, I'll move it there.

I also use Firefox but don't have this problem. However, I also clear my cache at least once a day. Give it a go .......

I'm not having issues even with 15 -20 tabs up. Firefox seems to be the only web browers that is still providing updates for use on WIN 7.

@Cee Jay Assuming that you haven't tried this already... Try completely uninstalling FF. Then, full reboot your PC. Then, reinstall FF from scratch. See what happens.

That was the second thing I tried. This forum is the Only place it happens, which is really a PITA.

I agree that it could be a PC OS/browser issue, since others are not having issues with FF on their PCs. If the issue with the forum is only when you post, I think that it might have something to do with a security cookie/token in the browser. It probably does a security check during the posting process to make sure that you're permitted to do a post. Or maybe when it has to update your profile to say that the site needs to add another thread to its list of subscriptions to monitor. What if you try to do a post from FF on your mobile? Do you have similar issues?

I looked in the general and security settings and didn't see anything that may affect posting a thread.

This is the only site affected, I've tried every other known website worldwide. Disabled extensions, banished cookies, delete and reinstall.
I don't like Brave, but I thought that was phone only anyway. Chrome eats memory and drive space, and 'Edge', don't even say that.
It only started happening when the bar across the top of this forum asked about Cookies. It's not worked well since that time.
Win 10 Enterprise 64 bit, 64GB ram, several TB storage (partitioned).
This is the ONLY site.
Weird.
Maybe I'll just suck it up and login using Opera and use that specifically for here.

Firewall can screws things up too, especially after they do an update.I have Avast which has caused issues in the past. Try turning it off for a thread post.

I'm set for accepting cookies:

Have you tried using this site in a private window: Menu>>New Private Window to see if it behaves the same? (name might have changed - not used FF for a while).

Usually a good way to see if there's some cookie/tracking element causing an issue or not.

Interesting your FF is showing up-to-date at version 115.1.0. Mine is version 116.0.2 last updated yesterday:

It would certainly appear to be some residual cookie/tracking element that has been stubborn enough to stay there despite all the steps you've taken. You could try this, taken from Mozilla Support site: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb...m-your-history

Heed the warnings about the consequences.

I've done this selectively a few times now, never dumped the entire thing. I really don't want to dump everything as I'm sure I have forgotten some login info somewhere along the way.
If it keeps pissing on my Keds, I'll do it eventually.

Mine updated a couple of days ago (usually on a startup) - just checked it now and it says up to date. After googling that is the last update for WIN 7 ---grrrrr.

Firefox version 115 will be the last supported version for users of Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1. Users will be moved to the Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) channel by an application update. Mozilla will provide critical security updates for these users until the end of ESR version 115, September 2024. After this, no security updates are provided and users are strongly encouraged to move to a supported version of Microsoft Windows.

I guess that's better than nowt coz I dunnae like WIN 10.

I didn't like Windows 10 either to start, but it's actually more stable than XP and seven and such. What I DON'T like is it's like a Nanny now... it's difficult to find some settings and to change things that Bill doesn't want you to change.
