The first thousand miles....
Were f*****g incredible!
Flew to Florida yeasterday, bought the car, drove to Atlanta and stayed with a friend. Drove back to Michigan today, 11 hours straight. I am so happy. And sunburnt, need a hat next time
I will add more pictures and details later (there are a few little things I want to address) BUT here are my first impressions.
Thai car is FAST. I can't even wrap my head around there being an "R" version. Or an "R-S" for that matter.
The car is solid, and in really good shape, needs an oil change bad, 8000+ miles since the last known and confirmed one. This is happening asap
I found the seat not great for 11 hours I I am honest. Maybe I just need to work on finding the right settings, but dear God am I stiff
i got 25.5 mpg. I was expecting 20-21. I am blown away by the efficiency.
All in all, thank you all for pushing me the right direction and providing the insight I needed to confirm/second guess some things.

@Tervuren . Same. I might touch the tilt on long drives... but that's it.
I prefer the driving stance of sitting very slightly reclined, long (but not overly extended) arms, slightly bent knee, and not too much back arch.
I do find many prefer the bottom cushion overly elongated and raised in the front... I don't like the pressure on my legs.
In@Marc Voorhees you need to play more ;-) I'm happy to drive her until I need fuel.

As for your flying question- spacious, and a bit strange having to wear a mask in the plane, but honestly not that much different. Less cabin service, but Delta did a great job spreading people out.

Sounds like you had an awesome trip, congrats on finding and buying the right XK for you! Now get that average MPG down to 14 like a respectable leadfoot.
Much is made about oil change intervals on this forum, personally I find it to be mostly anecdotal evidence. I never hit the 15k limit on oil but do change yearly, not more often, and my 2012 is running fine. Too each his own, certainly changing more often than what is recommended is not terribly expensive in the overall cost of ownership. Most make a big deal about the Jaguar approved oil (which I use) and swear by the JLR engineers recommendation to use only that oil but then discount their interval and call for more frequent changes.
8000 miles on the oil is not immediate in my book unless you are in the 1 year range. But that is me...I don't have the time or energy to take on every one else's **** retentive habits on this or any other forum, I am at my limit dealing with my own and Mrs. Tampamark's hangups.
Enjoy that Jaguar!

Well done Marc
I so wish there was somewhere in the UK I could take mine on an 11hr drive, sadly even if going up to the far north of Scotland takes a mere 9...any further and I'd drop off the end!
Mileage sounds good even appreciating your gallons are 17% smaller than the imperial type.
Best of luck to you
