Default First XK - spare tire question

Hi, I'm about to buy my first Jag, either a new XK or a used XKR. I see they come with one of those donut spares; which is nice, as I've had cars with just the compressor & goo option that is often in effective.

Just wondering, while not looking at the car, seems unlikely that a the full size tire and wheel that you just removed is going to fit in that small trunk; God forbid you are actually carrying luggage at the time.
Any experience with this?
Thanks.

I have the donut spare in my '07 XK. Although I have not had to try it, it appears that the full size tire will fit in the storage space under the trunk floor. I hope I never have to find out for sure.

My 08 XKR Portfolio did not come with a spare, only the goo and compressor.

I had that system in a BMW (commonly known as the BMW blow me kit). It's fine if you pick up a nail, but if you get any real damage, you're out of luck, especially if it is at night or weekend. In the BMW, I used to carry a winter wheel/tire in the trunk.

My 2009 XKR Portfolio cvt with all options including the big Alcon brakes has no spare, only the air compressor and fix-a-flat goo. Donut won't fit over the 6-piston calipers, and the dealer says a full size 20" wheel/tire won't fit in the trunk. I keep a bible in the trunk and pray...

My '07 XKR has the 19" wheels and thus does have a donut in the compartment below the hatch floor. Pirelli tire on a little donut wheel!

my '09 xkr doesn't have a spare but the Jag. service center comes to pick you up 24/7 here in Korea in case anythign happens. I had the battery run out from leaving the stereo on with engine off (for over 5 weeks without driving). I called Jag service and they came over to my house within 20 mins. good service, at least for little things.
