floaty boaty XKR suspension
Had my 2010 XKR for a few weeks now and anyone else noticed that the suspension although hard and jiggly at low speeds......u can feel every bump becomes soft and wallowy negotiating high speed undulating bends??? Its kind of like the back end is shifting around on the bushes and constantly shifting.........have checked the bushes with a pry bar and all seem ok........no system error messages with the CATS.......
Also just had a new set of Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas put on the back........the wallowy high speed handling is driving me nuts!!

I have the Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas front and rear on my 4.2 XKR. Handling for me is definitely not wallowy, very sharp, predictable and compliant. They are quite sensitive to correct pressures though, recommend you check and, if necessary, correct yours and see if that makes a difference.

My suspension isn't hard and jiggly at low speeds at all. In fact it is pretty awesome especially considering it is running on 20's and we have feral roads here. It is not quite as good as my 08 XF on 19's but better than my '12 XF on 20's, it is also much better at handling the bumps than my missus' v40T5 CC, though I get more road noise than I did in the previous jags. It is also a little jiggly in dynamic mode.
I mention that because maybe it isn't only the floaty boaty issue that is wrong with yours, maybe the rough ride at low speeds is also a symptom of something going wrong. Hopefully it is the same thing...

Yes, if pushed hard, I do feel body roll while cornering but nothing ever "jiggly". Does only the XKR exhibit this characteristic? I also appreciate how nicely my car feels while driving every day on different road surfaces as a grand tourer should. Isn't that the compromise? If I wanted to be planted on the road, I would be thinking Porsche Cayman, or Lotus, or GTR, or R8, but would have to hold onto my teeth on irregular road surfaces. I never wanted a sports car and love the ride of my XK.
