Fords & XKRs in Cornwall
The 75 has lowered suspension, the same as the Dynamic/R-S setup. Here is the approach to the converted mill we've been staying in, somewhere in darkest Penwith in Cornwall:
It's a ford, made of dirty great slabs of granite with channels between them. The drop on either side is about a foot.
I managed to ford the ford in the XKR, though I collected a bit of gravel on the front splitter. However, when I went to go back over the ford, I couldn't, because the splitter got too close to the dirty great slabs of granite and things would have become expensive. Eventually, I managed to cross it backwards, because the back of the XKR has a shorter, higher overhang. That was a little tricky, because the ford is not a lot wider than the car, and there's that nasty drop waiting. Of course, the owner had no trouble getting her Mondeo over in either direction.
So, the moral of the story is: you can ford a ford forwards in a Ford, but you can only ford it backwards in an XKR, unless you can afford a new splitter.
